Both sides in transit impasse ready to make separate offers, met with councilator at 10:30 a.m. today

If an agreement is reached, it would still take a few days for regional buses to start rolling again

Ken Wilson, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 508, announced to reporters in Grand Parade.

Each side has it's offer to make as Metro Transit and the union returned to the bargaining table on Wednesday morning.

The members of ATU Local 508 have prepared a counter- offer to the employer's final (offer).

It's now Day 5 of Metro Transit strike, with no end in sight and no talks planned

Transit strike negotiations are going nowhere . Fast.

There was no movement over the weekend. Both sides are sticking to their guns.

Metro Transit wants the union to take it's latest offer to it's members for a vote, and the union's bargaining team wants to be back at the bargaining table.

The three big things already remedied through previous negotiations are part- time workers, contracting out and making workers the highest paid in Canada.

They are sticking to their position and haven't had any recent communication with the union.

Where I live the Metro transit drivers are in talks' as they call them to come to an agreement' concerning more wages, and better working conditions. They make up to $50, 000 a year, and they want better pay?!

Their starting salary is through the roof.. They start their day, gassing up their vehicles- buses,- get their morning coffee, read the newspaper- I have seen them do this- chat with fellow workers and gripe; then head off on their appointed routes, and meet the passengers,  most of the public are pretty decent, their may be a few who are disruptive, but other than that driver's have a good day= and really can't complain. !

They certainly make the highest wages of some of the city workers, without a doubt, and they still want to strike.

They are not concerned that people-the public's lives will be disrupted. That some people will not be able to afford a taxi to work or school and thereby, lose their jobs, or miss alot of school time if they can't-find a drive or other way to travel..

We are in the middle of the winter season, and it is cold out and more snow on the way!

They need to be  reminded  that they were hired to serve the public- not bite the hand that feeds them- that is the paying customer..

I have posted in the newspaper, along with other people, my disappointment and anger over the driver's wanting to strike by Thursday..

We are getting a snow storm by Thursday, with up to 15 centimeters of snow. Some people drive too fast in the conditions, when they should be driving slower. Also, we are getting rain fall. I don't want to be out in the weather Thursday. I'll do what I want to get done, then stay indoors..

Hopefully the weather will not be too harsh, and people can get through it safely!

Giving a big test one day to his students. He handed out all of the tests and went back to his desk to wait.Once the test was over the students all handed the tests back in. The professor  noticed that one of the students had attached a $100 bill to his test with a note saying " A dollar per point."  The next class the professor handed the graded tests back out. This student got back his test, his test grade, and $64 change.

Well, Easter has arrived.. I went to a job fair last week, and never heard back from the companies.. I will continue to move forward and try different companies..

I want to eat some chocolate for the holiday, why not.. Some of the brands are too sweet, though, so I will look around for what is not too sweet.

Is anybody travelling this year? Be careful out there, and wear your seat belts..!

So far the lottery numbers run from me, and the more I want to win, it seems the less I am able to choose the right numbers to play. The numbers dance in front of my eyes, playing games, and I can't choose one number from the other.

I think one number will show and another appears in the lottery draw. Oh, how frustrating.

I buy insta picks as well. One of these days I may figure it out. I'll take breaks from the lottery games and then give it another go.

Michael Jackson died 1 year ago from today- June 25. He is very missed by people all over the world. He inspired people through his music and talent and humanitarian work.

I do not like the bad things people have said about him in the past.. Let us focus on what he brought to the music world- the man was a musical genius without a doubt!

Also the actress Farrah Fawcett will also be remembered- she was a great actress and I heard that she was a fine lady as well in her time.

As the lone female in her house, the lady found that certain male habits have really begun to get on her nerves. Caller: My wife is pregnant and her contractions are coming two minutes apart.

Dispatcher: ! Sir, an ambulance is on the way. Are you an asthmatic?

Caller: No

Dispatcher: What were you doing before you started having trouble breathing?

Caller: Running from the Police.
