Previously unpublished correspondence between Hillary Clinton and the late left-wing organizer Saul Alinsky reveal new details about her relationship with the controversial Chicago activist and shed light on her early ideological development. Clinton met with Alinsky several times in 1968 while writing a Wellesley college thesis about his theory of community organizing. Clinton's relationship with Alinsky, and her support for his philosophy, continued for several years after she entered Yale law school in 1969, two letters obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show. The letters obtained by the Free Beacon are part of the archives for the Industrial Areas Foundation,...

There is little doubt, this president is responding, not out of any sense of what's right, but of pure politics.
ISIS is Barack Obama's mess.
He made it and now he wants our help to clean it up. What do Canadians owe him?
He's turned his back on allies such as Israel, having proven himself a bigger friend to the likes of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood than to the Jewish state.
He's no friend of Canada's.
Instead of working with his friends, he's tried in vain to appease such longtime enemiesobamas-mess-now-wants-canadas-help

September 20, 2014, 6:23 pmObama Feels Family Unnapreciared..
Speaking at the Congressional picnic at the White House on Wednesday, President Obama spoke on how being married to a politician is not easy and how sometimes their families might feel not appreciated.
He said, "The only other thing I want to say is, thank you to the families. You know it is, uh Michelle was traveling to St. Judes today to be with the amazing kids there, and the doctors and staff, who help families going through really tough diseases. But she would be the first one to testify that being married to a politician is not easy. And being the partner of a politician, being the child of a politician, it's hard. Sometimes you see your loved one attacked, sometimes you see them not appreciated, and they're away too much, and you're having to shoulder some of the burdens of family. And so, to all the spouses, to all the children, everybody who helps support our public servants and our members of Congress, I just want to say thank you to you as well. For the great job that you do. We really, really appreciate it."
The quote starts at 3:54.
A word of advice to the first family: If you want to feel appreciated and feel warm and tingly inside, try to stop cramming things down the American people's throats like Obamacare and Michelle's school lunch programs.
Oh, and stop breaking the law.
September 20, 2014, 9:47 amDems and Obama...
When President Obama took office in 2009, congressional Democrats were euphoric. With control of the House, Senate and the White House, and high public approval for their new party standard bearer, Democrats eagerly embraced Obama and all the long-awaited policy initiatives he'd surely help them achieve.
In that first month, congressional Democrats mentioned Obama during floor speeches 200 or so more times than Republicans. In the next year and a half, the parties referred to the president at similar rates, sometimes with the Republicans having more to say, other times the Democrats.
One can reasonably assume that when the Democrats speak of the president publicly it's in a favorable way and when Republicans do it's, well, not quite as glowing. As positive public opinion of Obama began to dip after his first year, the spread between how often Republicans and the Democrats invoked Obama grew wider. Put simply, the Democrats weren't mentioning Obama by name nearly as much as Republicans.
The gap is particularly notable in the last year as seen in the chart above by the Sunlight Foundation, which measures how often any given word is spoken against all words in floor speeches and debates collected by the Congressional Record. Last fall, at the height of the government shutdown and the Obamacare rollout, Republicans were predictably discussing (bashing) Obama more.
But the trend has continued.
Much has been written this election cycle about the Democrats distancing themselves from Obama ahead of the midterm elections. Some Democratic candidates in tough races regularly emphasize their differences with the president. And Obama is persona non grata on the campaign trail (unless it's inside private high-dollar fundraiser dinners).
If the number of times they bring him up in front of the C-SPAN cameras is a measure, the Democrats detachment from the president is even evident on Capitol Hill where every spoken word is recorded forever, so it's especially crucial to choose them carefully.
As my grandmother always said, "You can't take back the spoken word."
She also often said, "If you can't say anything, nice don't say anything at all." And perhaps Democrats simply don't have very many nice things to say.

There are about 200,000 Africans from countries hosting the deadly Ebola virus who hold temporary visas to visit the United States, greatly raising the stakes it could spread to America, according to a group following the immigration issue.
"Based on State Department nonimmigrant visa issuance statistics, I estimate that there are about 5,000 people in Guinea, 5,000 people in Sierra Leone, and 3,500 people in Liberia who possess visas to come to the United States today," said Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies.
Add to that "more than 195,000 Nigerians" with visas to visit, or who could already be here, she said of the country that has seen temporary U.S. visas skyrocket.
The government has promised that the U.S. is safe, but that's not good enough for Vaughan. "At this time, with an extremely serious public health threat and more than 200,000 people who potentially could enter and spread it, either knowingly or unknowingly, the State Department and Department of Homeland Security should disclose to the public what they are doing to prevent travelers infected with Ebola from entering the country," she told Secrets.
The Ebola crisis is also drawing attention to citizens from Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia who overstay their visas. Vaughan said that the overstay rate of those from Ebola-impacted nations should be a concern.

I have to ask you all if you can answer this question: what is a "very significant counter-terrorism operation with many moving parts that will be done over a period of time?"
I have no idea either.
Our immediate task is to defeat ISIS. And I can sum up that strategy in eight words: We shoot, they die. We win, they lose.
September 14, 2014, 12:37 pmIndian Mating Season...
Two Indians and a Tennessee Hillbilly were walking through the woods. All of a sudden one of the Indians ran up a hill to the mouth of a small cave.
"Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!" he called into the cave and listened closely until he heard an answering,
"Wooooo! Wooooo! Woooooo!
He then tore off his clothes and ran into the cave.
The Hillbilly was puzzled and asked the remaining Indian what it was all about. "Was that Indian crazy or what?"
The Indian replied "No, It is our custom during mating season when Indian men see cave, they holler 'Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!' into the opening. If they get an answer back, it means there's a beautiful woman in there waiting for us."
Just then they came upon another cave. The second Indian ran up to the cave, stopped, and hollered,
"Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!"
Immediately, there was the answer. "Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!" from deep inside. He also tore off his clothes and ran into the opening.
The Hillbilly wandered around in the woods
alone for a while, and then spied a third large cave.
As he looked in amazement at the size of the huge opening, he was thinking, "Hoo, man! Look at the size of this cave! It's bigger than those the Indians found.
There must be some really big, fine women in this cave!"
He stood in front of the opening and hollered with all his might, "Wooooo! Wooooo! Wooooo!"
Like the others, he then heard an answering call,
"WOOOOOOOOO, WOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO!"
With a gleam in his eye and a smile on his face,
he raced into the cave, tearing off his clothes as he ran.
The following day, the headline of the local newspaper read...

September 12, 2014, 7:17 pmFoley's brother...
In reacting to President Obama's speech earlier this week, Foley said he wanted to see a more involved strategy put on the table to stabilize the region. Further in reaction to a question posed by Kelly about whether the Obama administration did everything it could to bring James Foley home, especially after the Bowe Bergdahl swap and comments by Obama saying Americans leave no man behind, Michael Foley said his family is "appalled" by the situation. Foley also talked about how he was threatened directly by the State Department and said that when the family tried to get information from the U.S. government or from other allies, they were stonewalled.

September 11, 2014, 7:22 pmObama and Facts...
WASHINGTON It's not as clear as President Obama made it sound Wednesday night that he has the authority to go after Islamic State militants in the manner he plans, with sustained airstrikes and associated military actions designed to neutralize the foe. What is clear, though, is that he's going ahead with it anyway.
In his speech to the nation, Obama also said his strategy against militants operating in Iraq and Syria calls for no U.S. troops in the fight, but it's not that simple.
A look at some of his claims and how they compare with facts:
OBAMA: "I have the authority to address the threat from ISIL."
THE FACTS: Obama didn't elaborate on his claim of authority to conduct a potentially yearslong campaign against the Islamic State group, or ISIL, without new congressional approval. But administration officials briefing reporters before the speech said it is grounded in two authorizations passed by Congress, in 2001 and 2002. Obama himself criticized the 2001 authorization in the past and his administration called the 2002 resolution outdated. But now, both are being cited to support his action in Iraq and Syria.
The 2001 authorization supported President George W. Bush's war against al-Qaida and the then-Taliban government of Afghanistan. In a May 2013 speech, Obama said he wanted to "refine and ultimately repeal" it because "we may be drawn into more wars we don't need to fight." The Islamic State group was once tied to al-Qaida but has broken those links and now considers it a rival.
The 2002 authorization supported the invasion of Iraq. Last year, Obama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, asked House Speaker John Boehner to repeal it, calling it "outdated."
In short, it's in dispute whether Obama has the authority he claims. The ability of presidents to launch sustained military action on their own is questioned whenever it happens, but it tends not to stay their hand.
The administration does acknowledge it needs approval from Congress to conduct one part of its strategy training and equipping Syrian opposition forces.
OBAMA: "We will send an additional 475 service members to Iraq. As I have said before, these American forces will not have a combat mission we will not get dragged into another ground war in Iraq. ... It will not involve American combat troops fighting on foreign soil."
THE FACTS: That's splitting hairs. It's true that the troops he is sending, in addition to the approximately 1,000 already there, are not intended to get into a shooting war. But some will be advising Iraqi army commanders in the field so they can advance more decisively against Islamic State forces under the cover of U.S. bombs. And under standard military rules of engagement, they will be allowed to defend themselves if shot at.
Obama said he wants Americans to understand that this will be "different from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan," where hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops fought extended battles. To make his point he termed his Iraq-Syria action a "counterterrorism campaign" to "take out" Islamic State forces using American air power and "support" for "partner forces" on the ground.
Even so, it will be a shooting war and no one can say that U.S. troops will not engage in combat and possibly get killed. Obama acknowledged that any military action involves risk to those who carry them o

The company that runs the conservative Breitbart.com news site says the IRS has selected the network for an audit, in a move company executives suggest is politically motivated.
Breitbart News Network, a California-based company which runs several conservative websites, says the IRS recently audited its 2012 financial information.
"The Obama administration's timing on this is exquisite, but try as they might through various methods to silence us, we will only get more emboldened," Stephen K. Bannon, executive chairman of Breitbart News Network, said in a written statement.
The audit comes as the agency faces sustained complaints that it targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny as they sought nonprofit status, before the agency ended the practice last yfrom Drudge.com
