Fantastic, funny video shows exactly what is happening to you as a result of the high gas prices. Think it's just satire? Think again.

From 4fourme:
The cost is $2 billion, and 10-year undertaking to build a new refinery, depending on how long it takes to get the permits, said Bob Slaughter, president of the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association.
Since no new refinery have been build in the last 30 years or don't think for one moment that the American people weren't set up by congress and the former prez Bush sr.. The oil barons have been waiting for this moment for a long time to rape our bank accounts and bring down America.
Our government and the EPA will make building any new refinery's a pain staking process. We'll need at least 25 of them to keep up with the demand.
There is no quick cure for the fuel shortage problem. There is plenty of oil but not enough refineries to keep up with the demand for fuel. Think it's bad now wait a few more weeks when they switch to over from the modified summer blends to the winter blends. $$$$$
It is not just about our own demand. It is about worldwide demand. USA oil companies sell oil to other countries, notably Japan. As supply shrinks, the price increases across the board. It is a complex model, but the bottom line is that, for a number of factors, drilling more WILL decrease price. It is not the total solution, but an extremely important starting point. Like finishing the border fence before allowing the guest workers in.
Comment by four4me - July 15, 2008, 1:58 pmOur government had to know that we would face this situation and they let it happen.... it goes way deeper than this as the big auto makers didn't make the necessary changes that they should have in regards to fuel efficient autos and fuel-less autos.
All this is water under the bridge now because there is no way we can compete with the demand for fuel in our country.
I think you have to take it one step at a time, and that many variables are at play. Once you start taking the right actions, there are several other good reactions that will naturally happen.
Nobody thought we could defeat the Soviet Union either, and most liberals took a very defeatist attitude. One of the reasons they don't like talking about Ronald Regean is that they strongly disagreed with him at the time that the Soviet Union could be defeated. They were wrong. Regean defeated them by doing one correct action after the other. Many related reactions took place naturally, which eventually bankrupted the Soviet regime, and the rest is history.
We can do the same thing with energy. I am certain of that, and my attitude is a positive one.
