A report has cleared Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin of ethics violations in the firing of her public safety commissioner.
Released Monday, the report says there is no probable cause to believe Palin or any other state official violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act in connection with the firing. The report was prepared by Timothy Petumenos, an independent counsel for the Alaska Personnel Board.
A separate legislative investigation recently wrongly concluded that Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, abused her office by allowing her husband and staffers to pressure the public safety commissioner to fire a state trooper who went through a nasty divorce from Palin's sister.
Palin said the firing had nothing to do with the trooper.

The republicans have been known to get their way.
All i'm saying is that corruption abounds. That makes me look strange?

Comment by NBey6 - November 4, 2008, 10:09 amWe forgive her and Colin Powell for their lack of judgment with George W. Bush, though. They were "hypnotized." LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My gloating is well deserved, especially after having to put up with you people's nonsense for so many years.

It's not always easy to retreat gracefully.
However, the liberals here, including those who have posted comments on this blog entry, have been engaged in ridicule rather than debate. You all are the "poor things" here, because you support a man who would institute policies that have kept you down for decades. The liberals gained complete control of Congress two years ago, and already their policies are being felt. It will get much worse when they have a president who will hand them a blank check - all the checks and balances will be gone.
On the other hand, there have been no good reasons given here or anywhere of why McCain is a poor choice for president. Just ridicule and mindless comparisons to George Bush, which is a truly inane argument. That's right, I said inane. Look it up.
Good luck to you. You'll need it. Carter, er, ah, Obama will give you exactly what you're asking for.
I just hope to God every McCain voter goes to vote today, and this large group of undecideds go for McCain.
There are not remarks about "he has goofy ears" or "he wears expensive custom suits" or "he smells bad" or anything like that.
On the other hand, nearly every remark made by liberals about Sarah Palin and John McCain are nasty ridicule or pointless remarks that have nothing to do with the issues.
This whole "troopergate" thing is a great example, because any thinking, honest American who took more than one second to look at the facts can understand quite clearly that it is bunk, and that she did an excellent job acting responsibly.

The initial legislative investigation seemed politically timed.
