Here are a couple of videos from "Thomas Paine", speaking in clear terms about what is wrong today and what we should be doing.
These are very appropriate videos to watch today, the day of hundreds of American Tea Parties, protesting our non-representing Representatives in the Federal government, who have eroded our liberty and ignored the people they claim to represent.

I love to see how this passionate fellow identifies our non-representing Representatives in the Federal government not by their political party, but rather by their behavior.
Those apologists who reflexively react to this kind of pro-American, small-government message by attempting to change the topic to an anti-Republican rant will hopefully see their automatic reactions as the media-driven brainwashing that it is. These videos are not an attack on your Democrat party, and they are not an attack on your hero. Rather, they are a strong reminder for Americans to see just how far we have strayed from our principles as a nation, and call-to-action to get involved and do something about it.
The voices of common sense are starting to wake up!

Comment by Tenaj - April 15, 2009, 11:56 amLittle too late, should have been doing this with the Bush administration. He brought this country down. I would have went to a tea party against the Bush administration. The current president is just trying to clean up the horrible mess.

I did expect you in particular to post your typical anti-Bush, anti-Republican comment, so it's great to see it over with. I'm not looking for a debate, so hopefully we can get some reasoned remarks now.

Comment by big3picker - April 15, 2009, 12:14 pmBush is not the one that brought this country down. it is our so called representatives that are only looking out for their self interest. they could care less about the people the are suppose to be representing. tell them that they have to get out in the world and earn a living like the rest of us and then when they get ready to retire have to live on social security, they would go crazy (make that crazier). in the real world you can't vote yourself a raise and better reitrement benifits and steal your money (legally). so instead of blaming Bush or any other past president, blame your representatives

Once elected, it becomes very difficult to un-seat the encumbant because of the massive media exposure advantages they have during the campaign over local challengers. Some of my favorite parts of the videos is how he talks about forcing Congress to live by the same laws they create. YES!

A good, intelligent, patriot citizen was "drafted" away from his farm and livelyhood to "serve" as his "duty" for only a couple years in federal government and then he went back to his home and profession. There was none of this professional lifelong polititian business (read crook) like we have now.

It's the new thing. No really because they were on the constitution when George W was in office. I guess they will try it again.
They chose tax deadline day to do it. Marching/ protesting everywhere. I guess this is what we'll be hearing from the pubs until they think of something else.
Newt Gingrich plan to speak and gather about it too with his advocacy group. I don't see where it's going to work because the people who voted for the current administration were tired of our "yellowed constitution." It's just an organized "group whine."

Comment by truecritic - April 15, 2009, 5:43 pmSending a tea bag isn't going to happen nor would it be effective. A strong militia and revolution is what this Country needs. The revolution should be against runaway capitalism and high Government wages and salaries - not just Congress - but any worker making over $20/hr for work that would only pay $10/hr in the private sector.
Sorry, I wouldn't vote for Paine as the solution. He'll never come up with a way to get back all the BILLIONS that were wasted on a war that should have NEVER been started except for the vendetta of one person.
And you are right it isn't Republican/Democrat - it is certain individuals. Bush did more damage to this Country than the last 10 Presidents combined. Like that war, there is no end to this comment. I could go on and on about what is wrong.

I think most of your "wrongness" in general comes from the fact that you speak without first investiagting and learning any pertinent facts. I have no idea where you glean your information, or perhaps you just look at a headline and make up all the "facts" yourself.
Who knows, maybe the only reason you post comments on my blog is to create negativity on it by forcing me to respond to your preposterous statements. (That's called "trolling", in case you weren't aware.)

Those who refuse to get their news from other places than the alphabet stations have their minds glazed over. I have no doubt, Tenaj, that you have several articles propounding your viewpoints and I also have no doubt that those same articles can be proved, with facts, to be extremely biased. Even the LA Times today ran an article that disparged the TEA Party movement. Subsequent comments pointed out the falicy of each point the writer made, not that the truth will change the writers mind. The TEA parties are not organized by Republicans or some rich benefactor. This is truly a grass roots movement which the internet has made possible. Look for more of this kind of thing in the future, on both sides of the spectrum. At the very least, no one involved with TEA parties is being paid to attend or supported by government money. Can your side say that? I didn't think so.

This is the first time in my lifetime when ordinary, working folks got out in force and demonstrated against the government. I can't even recall a similar event in history -- other than the original Boston Tea Party.
The left in this country has had an exclusive "lock" on protesting as a political tool since the country was founded. It must be frightening for them to see a spontaneous eruption of ordinary working folks rising up in protest -- with no "moveon.org" (George Soros) funding them, no big politicians organizing it, and no famous stars appearing in order to draw the crowds. Just regular, working folks, who are fed up to the point of action.
That's why the CNN reporter was so rude and arrogant, and why all of the propoganda "news" organizations like NBC, CBS, ABC, NY Times, LA Times, CNN, MSNBC, etc., etc., etc., are doing everything they can to paint the demonstrations as a right-wing thing. It fightens them. AND IT SHOULD.
