Comment by konane - November 4, 2009, 10:41 amTotally awesome, bet there is going to be a massive conservative sweep in the next few election cycles. 3. Sure, Konane. How many seats did the Republicans win in the House? I guess the GOP can spin the 2 big Governor wins (VA and NJ) all they want and completely ignore the exit polls that clearly indicate the votes for Governor had nothing to do with Obama or Congress, although I wouldn't blame people for being disgusted with the Senate right now. VA had a very low voter turnout, but over 60% said their votes had nothing to do with Washington. Deeds ran a lousy campaign and ran out of money months ago. He also said he'd opt-out of the Public Option and I believe that lost him votes. In Oct the Daily Kos said McDonnell was running a better campaign and criticized Deeds, and that's a very left wing publication. I just don't see why it's a big surprise that a Republican won in Virginia, especially when the polls showed Deeds behind for months. In case anyone brings up NJ, that race was predicted over a year ago. Last year a couple of newspapers said Corzine would lose by an even larger margin than he did on Tues. Again, it's interesting that not one Pub won a congressional seat (correct me if I'm wrong) and they're screaming victory & death to the Dems. Where's your post about Bill Owens, the Dem who won the special election in New York? Guess Palin endorsing the conservative candidate didn't help much. Regarding Congress, we a few exceptions, I think we should throw them all out and start fresh. We need elected officials who serve the people, not their own agendas and bank accounts. 4. last paragraph should read ... "with a few exceptions" Darn, can't seem to post on LP without making a typo. Must be all that emotion coming out of my fingertips. ;-) 5. Comment by konane - November 4, 2009, 2:21 pmJustx guess you can't read again I said ~~~"conservative sweep"~~~ C O N S E R V A T I V E not Republican. Conservative could mean Independent, Libertarian, Constitutional or any other name you hang on a party that's not socialist, leftist, liberal, fascist, communist, Marxist, Maoist or Stalinist or dictatorial like the current gang in Washington seems hell bent on ruling as.
