We need more sensibile advertisements like this one.
Note that it never attacks a group of people or says "the other side is stupid." It is nothing but common sense FACTS, spoken by a non-politician who has a ton of experience with the exact topic being spoken about.
THIS is what civil debate is all about.

She's just part of the special interest groups out there scaring everyone. I guess if I was making a ton of money from health insurance companies I'd want make sure that money didn't stop coming in.

To dismiss all people you don't agree with as a "special interest group" or "an insurance company person" is intellectually dishonest to the extreme.

I never said you were Todd. Just because you agree with someone's opinion doesn't neccessarily mean you are doing what they are.
I'm sorry if you thought I was implying that you were making money from insurance companies or whatever. Nothing of the sort.
If I say the Mr. Joe shmo is lying about the moon landings and it was all a hoax doesn't mean everyone who disagrees with me is in on the conspiracy.

Comment by Todd - November 18, 2009, 4:07 pmYou're misunderstanding. I was using myself as an example. You're basically saying that anyone who agrees to participate in an advertisement is being bought off, as if the person did not believe that way before participating in the ad.
I believe this woman is sincere, as most people are who come out against the horrendous $3 trillion health plan. She is exactly right that accounting gimmicks are being emplyed by Pelosi and Reid in order to hide the true cost. They say $1 tillion, but the number is actually $3 trillion over a scant 10 years. And that's only with six of those years having actually coverage, with 10 years of accumulated tax revenue and Medicare cuts.
Nobody in this country dies because of lack of health care, and if anyone is trying to put the scare in people, it's the liberals in Congress and the president, who are the same people who called this "the worst economy since the Great Depression". (Another lie -- the late 1970's under Carter was the worst since the Great Depression. But they don't like to mention that.)

He has already hinted it when talking to the Chicoms. How else are we going to pay for this B.S. health reform of his?

Comment by Todd - November 18, 2009, 10:12 pmI'm still trying to figure out what "jobs saved" means in the first place. What a dopey term. Did you hear about the $1,000 lawn mower that supposedly "saved 50 jobs"? Note how the media allows them to get away with such a ridiculous concept.
