I can't get over the faux-patriotic music in the background and the countless annoying computer-generated camera sweeps over the twisting $100 bill (with accompanying lens flare), but at least you get to see the new features of the bill.

Comment by Rick G - January 6, 2011, 12:45 pmCan't see it until the end because of all the 'furling' you mentioned, but notice the contrast of the two halves of the bill. The right side has all the gold, left side doesn't. Golden quill and a golden ink bottle are interesting touches. One theory I've heard is that it portends a return to the gold standard. We'll see.

I still don't understand why we don't have a $500 dollar bill? A $100 isn't much like it used to be.

You can forget about the gold standard. There is not enough gold in the world to satisfy the demand.

Comment by Todd - January 6, 2011, 8:13 pmThe gold standard just means the value is based on the current price of gold. It doesn't mean it has to be redeemable for gold. Coming off the gold standard was a plan hatched by elite egg heads, and it has wrecked our economy.
