Valerie Jarrett Slams Republicans Praises Obama at Ebenezer Baptist Church

On the Sunday before the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett visited Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta to give a political speech in support of her boss (Barack Obama) and congressional Democrats:

"Teachers, and firefighters, and policemen, whose jobs are now in jeopardy because Congress--well let me be specific--because the Republicans in Congress," Jarrett told the crowd. According to the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, at this point, "Before she could finish her sentence, people in the congregation were laughing, and applauding."

At the Sunday service, Jarrett also brought up Osama bin Laden's death in order to praise the president. "We all sleep a little better at night knowing Osama Bin Laden and his lieutenants are not plotting a terrorist attack against the United States," Jarrett said. Then she pivoted to Iraq: "I saw so many soldiers returning home from their last tour of duty in Iraq, in time for the Christmas holidays."

At the end of Sunday's sermon, after Jarrett had delivered her remarks to the congregation, the church held a voter registration drive.

It was nice that someone from the Government came to this church, but was it in memory of Dr. King or a political rally.?
Whatever happened between the separation of Church and State??
IMO i see this as a political stop, not out of respect for Dr.King.!

V Jarrett is a funny faced fascist. She is triple F. She is a one percenter pretending to be a 99 percenter! Typical funny faced fascist, I think she squints so much because her eyes are stuck from counting all the money she's stolen off the backs of taxpayers. Triple F' er.

What she did was disrespectful and misrepresenting Dr. King.

Church and state are only separate for tax purposes, and only among those churches that are in good with the state.

She's a "Senior White House Adviser" for one reason and one reason only. Because Michelle said so.
She doesn't know her big fat ass from a hole in the ground. Even Barry is embarrassed by her.

Valerie Valerie Valerie, girl where do you get such non-sense
First of all the unions screwed the firefighters, teachers and police by insisting on giant pensions in a workforce that cannot support itself. Most of the occupations are property tax based PAYROLLS.. What the union wants is a tax payer bail out. PERIOD. NOBODY IS TRYING TO PUT ANYBODY OUT OF WORK , THEY ARE QUITE SIMPLY TELLING THE UNION NO, YOU WON'T BE FEDERALLY funded clean up your own fricking mess. my taxes and property taxes already paid for these people now they want to put their own mis-management on the next generation.
And Oh Val , if we are so much safer now that Osama bin laden is gone, then tear down the x-ray machines and stop feeling Americans up at the airport.
Oh by the way Val these soldiers coming home, will be headed for syria or iran so stop with war is over non-sense, bringing the SOLDIERS HOME IS JUST FODDER FOR THE CAMPAIGNE TRAIL, Nothing more THEY'LL BE BACK ON THE FRONT LINE SOMEWHERE ELSE SOON.

"...stop feeling Americans up at the airport."

I don't mind being felt up that much as long as it ain't by a democrat girlyman or a big old fatass democrat behemoth woman that look like Godzilla.

Thank you for your comments everyone. I'm certainly not surprised to see a politician or government representative making a speech from the pulpit during MLK holiday service.

The Internal Revenue Code prohibits churches and other nonprofit organizations from directly endorsing or opposing candidates but I doubt any church has ever lost it's tax-exempt status on this point.
