Had the german shepherd euthanized at the vet hospital earlier

Published:

A german shepherd senior dog that I inherited  from a neighbour., became too ill I had to have him put down- euthanized earlier tonight- at the veterinary hospital- on this snowy night!

He was 12 year's old and his name was Max. And he developed hip, spine and leg problem's over time, where he couldn't walk properly anymore.. So I made the decision to help him to not be in pain any longer.

Max was a good dog and lively, but his body wouldn't support him any longer. So I sadly, said good bye.

I know that Max is better off, and with his creator- God and much happier.

Sorry to hear about your dog. It's always hard when you have to part with a loyal companion.

I'm very sorry to hear about your dog. I was a wreck doing the same thing last year. With time it gets a little easier, but you never forget.

It is a very difficult thing to do, they can't tell us how much pain they are in.   You are a good person, Max is in heaven and is free to run again.

Such a hard thing to do, but you did the right thing. I had to have our yellow Lab put down a few years ago. His name was Max also.

That is one of the hardest things to do in life and after a lifetime of taking in strays and rescues (I have 5 now) I've had more than my share of it.
And it never gets easier.
Each one is a unique and special loving being.
I look forward to seeing them all again someday.
I heard a priest say one time that dogs don't go to Heaven because they don't have souls.
That's what he thinks.
There are few humans as loyal and loving and true as dogs.
God wouldn't create such beautiful, loving beings and then ban them from Heaven.

Sorry for you lost. Some people don't realize that animals are just as precious as children or family members. They can even be better because they give you conditional love. My condolences to you.

Thank you very much to everybody- < Jill34786; emilyg; Todd; jarasan, rcbbuckeye, rdgrnr, LOWDOWNF, and jackpotismine;

I feel that dog's and cat's too are our great friend's and companion's on this journey we are on in this lifetime; and that they do have soul's and go to heaven with their creator God, the same as us.
And that life goes the way it is going to go sometime's, and we have to roll with it, and have growth in the process..

Thank you again, and may you have wonderful memories with your animal's and friend's in this life..

OMG! So sorry to hear about that. Putting your pet down is one of the most difficult things in the world (if not THEE most difficult and heartbreaking.) I am still mourning my kitty that I had to put down last year. Sending prayers to you and beloved Shepard. He is smiling now and pain-free and crossing the rainbow bridge. (Say hi to my kitty,Max!)
