Black on Black Crimes...

Published:

On CNN, blacktivist Elon James White told conservative blogger Crystal Wright that focusing on black on black crime is a "false narrative" used to "change the conversation." The fact that 93% of black murder victims were killed by other blacks is irrelevant because they weren't cops. This assumes that cops are randomly shooting black kids for no reason instead of defending themselves from attacks, as was the case with Mike Brown (no, he didn't have his hands up, St. Louis Rams). The other assumption here is that gang bangers' lives are less valuable than innocent kids. I thought, "Black lives matter"?

The unfortunate truth nobody wants to look at here is the raw numbers. To pretend the liberal narrative version of Trayvon and Brown are typical cases is like saying shark attacks are as likely as car accidents. We're told that cops kill black suspects 96 times a year. Let's get crazy and say a third of them were totally innocent. That's 32 victims a year. Here in New York City there are over ten times that many black murders and almost all of them were crime-related. The number of stray bullet fatalities and innocent kids killed while playing with their mom's boyfriend's gun is rarely discussed. In 2005, 8,000 blacks were murdered and 9 out of 10 times it was by blacks. Having an innocent child murdered by a cop is obviously horrific. That's why it's a felony. This isn't that. This is a case of a criminal getting shot while attacking a cop. When it comes to black victims, even these cases are incredibly rare.

I realize shark attacks make for a way cooler narrative but we should be reaching for calculators before we reach for bricks.

Thanks Em, I can tell you I grew up in Detroit, and when a Neighborhood gets real bad, the cops and ambulances stop showing up . Then the people cry, how come no one shows up?
People are tired of crime, tired of the same old garbage getting a smack on the hand and being sent back into the streets.
For the record, The choke hold is not illegal, it's just against some police force policy, NOT ALL and that does not make it a crime.
Resisting arrest is a crime, assaulting a police officer is a crime.
