Comments for "Comparison of real & fake Reuters photos"

August 6, 2006, 2:33 pmComparison of real & fake Reuters photos

Here are the two photos, one right above the other, for easy comparison.  When the pictures are put side-by-side, the extent of the photo doctoring becomes clear.  Someone spent a lot of time changing the photo.

Shame on Reuters for posting that photo, which anyone can see is fake.

I guess if the photo showed the devistation to an Israeli town they would have erased a lot of the smoke.

I blame Reuters for this, not for the doctoring, but for tarnishing their once-reliable and unbiased image by hiring a hezbollah sympathizer in the first place. Either they are also hezbollah supporters or incredibly stupid. Either way, they have thrown their reputation in the dumpster. Is AP next?

It doesn't matter that they dropped the photographer... he's already done his damage. That photographer 'dropped' them (in the credibility department).

The real question is, why did he feel the need to do it? A bomb blast is a bomb blast. To doctor a photo of it to make it look worse than it was brings into question the motives of the photographer.
