Summer Millionaire Raffle Drawing

Two top prizes of €1 million will be won in Ireland's Summer Millionaire Raffle, drawn on Aug. 26, 2009.  Other prizes include five prizes of €100,000; 45 of €10,000; 80 of €5,000; 100 of €1,000 and 300 prizes worth €500 each.

As part of the Rose of Tralee 50th Anniversary celebrations, the Millionaire Raffle draw will be broadcast live on RTÉ ONE from Denny Street in Tralee, Co Kerry during the Rose of Tralee on Wednesday 26 August 2009.

What is the Summer Millionaire Raffle?

  • Summer Millionaire Raffle is a national raffle game available through National Lottery Lotto Agents, on sale from June 12.
  • Summer Millionaire Raffle offers the best chance to win a million and is guaranteed to create two millionaires.
  • The game will be on sale for a limited period with a limited number of tickets available.
  • There are 300,000 tickets in total and once those tickets are sold out, there are no more available, so play early to avoid disappointment.
  • Each ticket sold will contain a unique six-digit number from 000001 to 300000 inclusive, and will be sold sequentially from the available ticket pool.
  • On August 26 the draw will take place, and 532 raffle tickets will be randomly selected, all winning great cash prizes.
  • There are seven prize categories, with cash prizes ranging from €500 to €1,000,000

How do I play?

  • Simply ask your National Lottery Lotto Agent for the number of tickets that you wish to play and the Lotto terminal will print out your ticket(s) with your six digit raffle number.
  • Each ticket costs €20.
  • Players purchasing more than one ticket may not necessarily receive numerically consecutive tickets.
  • Tickets are Quick Pick only, so there's no need to fill out a playslip.
  • Tickets cannot be cancelled and because there is only one prize draw, 'Advance Play' is not available.

Where can I play Millionaire Raffle?

  • Provided you are 18 years of age or over you can play Millionaire Raffle at any National Lottery Lotto Agent. Millionaire Raffle tickets are available for sale any day from June 12 to draw close on August 26, or until tickets are sold out, whichever comes first.
  • Just ask your National Lottery Lotto Agent for a ticket and you're ready to join in the fun.
  • Each Millionaire Raffle ticket will contain a six digit raffle number, which will be printed on your ticket reading across on one line. Once you have your ticket, you're now in the game!
  • Ask your National Lottery Lotto Agent for a Millionaire Raffle ticket wallet and details of prizes and draw procedure. (subject to availability).
  • Your ticket is the only valid receipt for claiming a prize and will show the date of the draw for which your ticket is valid. The draw closes at noon on August 26.
  • Remember to keep your ticket safe, it could be worth €1,000,000

When are the winning entries drawn?

  • A preliminary draw from all valid ticket entries will take place at the final day of the Rose of Tralee festival on Wednesday August 26. This draw will take place under independent supervision of KPMG and be attended by a Garda representative.
  • The object of the preliminary draw shall be to randomly select, with the aid of drawing equipment, and under independent supervision, 532 winning tickets from the total number of valid tickets sold.
  • These 532 winning tickets will then be placed in a draw drum for a final draw. The final draw will take place on the night of August 26. At the final draw, the National Lottery will draw, in order, the winning tickets for each prize value. The top seven prizes; the two €1,000,000 prizes and the five €100,000 prizes, will be drawn live on air from Denny Street at the Rose of Tralee festival. This will be televised on RTE 1, at 8.50pm before the 9 o'clock news. After that the remaining prizes will be drawn at the Fels Point Hotel in Tralee, Co Kerry.
  • Results for the top 7 prizes will be available after the draw on August 26 on Lottery Post's Ireland Lottery Results page (www.lotterypost.com/results/ie).  Results for all remaining prizes will be available on the same Web page by the following day (Aug. 27). Tickets may also be checked at National Lottery agents.
