Mr. Lemons declined to comment directly on the bill, but said taking away the office's ability to utilize technology would "be like telling a bank they couldn't use ATM machines anymore."

I thought banks used ATM machines to make even more money?? I know if I use another banks ATM machine I get charged by both banks.

I love doubles and remember, it's just a game!!!!!!

    You are correct. Banks do use ATMs to make money off of the surcharges. After the first 3000 transactions (which can happen in a matter of days, depending on the bank), all surcharges from transactions become profit for the bank. That's how they are making a lot of their money nowadays. That's how they can offer such low interest rates on loans. It used to be that a bank would have to loan money out at a higher rate than it gives on it's account holders.
