well who would have thought that it would be hit again.
Todd: Can we do a petition to get the powerball jackpot and matrix raised? I've redone my website. Go to www.dr-ew.com. I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff. Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

the goal of the people who run these games is to generate higher sales through more people playing for a higher jackpot. the goal of real lottery players is to win enough money to get out of the rat race. these
two goals have nothing to do with one another.

Wow it was hit yet again. 120 million to one seems really high odds for a 10 million jackpot game.

I just moved to NH a few months ago and find it ironic that the jackpots have all been low/not exciting! When I did not live here, they were always high and I had to travel far to buy tickets. It's aggravating!

tg636: & streaks of both winning and not winning go with the territory& the states make money on even the lowest of jackpots.
Todd: Sure, they make money, but less than what big multi-state games are supposed to make& for a lotto game that has frequent winners, that's what your state's Pick 6 game is for. The big multi-state games are there to have big rollovers and big jackpots.
I agree with tg636. On the other hand I also understand Todd's point, which is correct according to what a game like PB is supposed to be.
Personally, I still find it ironic that some people get disappointed when there are no "big" jackpots, as if it's so easy for them to win. But as long as they play what they can afford, everything should be okay.

I have the choice of playing many games right now....
(near the Wis-Illinois border)
Wis Megabucks..... $2.1 Million 1:7Mill odds
Powerball................ $18 Million 1:120 Million odds
Mega Millions.......... $36 Million 1:135 Mill odds...
And now
Illinois Lotto ........... $25 Million.... 1:10 million odds....
It makes Illinois Lotto 15x Better than Powerball and last week when Powerball was smaller Illinois Lotto was somthing like 27x plus better than powerball....
I did put a couple of bucks on the other games, but I dropped $20 bucks this week on Ill Lotto.....
The simple formula I use is that I take the cash amount and divide it by the odds...
The numbers for tonight...
It's not exact but gives a good guide.....
#1 Illinois lotto= 1.2525
#2 Wis Supercash= .2567 (pays nothing for 2 or 3 matches but everybody gets $250k)
#3 Illinois Little Lotto= .1737 (pays on 2 matches)
#4 Wis Megabucks= .1652 (sits at 1 mil for a month before increasing)
#5 Mega Millions=.1554
#6 Wis Badger 5= .0942 (was #2 last night) (pays on 2 matches)
#7 Powerball= .0830
I created a spreadsheet that gives me all the data on these lottos...
Watching them on a daily basis becomes interesting...
MarkP
Wow! That's my kind of system. We ought to post that like we post the jackpots. And if the game costs $2, just double the odds per dollar.

I am with you on that Maverick I just don't see it. But it looks as if I am going to have to change my thinking a little. Someone stated over in the Mega Million thread on this same subject that they will continue to play because the odds are against them winning and they only play three dollars so it does not matter if it is 1 billion to 1 if it is to be you ----it will. This got me to thinking I too only play a few dollars per draw and only when it is below the 100 million mark once it goes over that I stop until that run is over. I don't care for the feeding frenzy that is involved once it gets over that mark. Plus I just would not care to be under a media microscope if one does hit it big. Money does strange things to people Jack Whitaker might have had all the same problems he has had but we would not have known them if not for the fact that he won a huge lotto. I don't need a big win my needs and wants are small and simple. This does not mean that I would not like to win but just enough to purchase a small but comfortable home in a warmer climate and to keep the wolf away from the door. So a simple 5 million cash payout would be more than fine. I do understand why the Multi lottery States want bigger JP's it generates money The bigger the JP the more players. Not us who might play on a regular basis but those who play only when it gets big. I have an friend who will only play when it goes over 100 mil but he goes nuts and puts down big money the larger the prize the more he puts in. Problem is once it is hit he goes into a big depression for a couple of weeks after moaning why wasn't it him after all he spent all this money. Will I ever win I doubt it I have been playing for 23 years now and other than a few mini wins nothing. Has it been fun you bet! the fun part is the dream we all have of getting that brass ring

I quit playing Mega Millions recently also. Is this a new Gail Howard technique? Perhaps the trend is your friend?

What I'm interested to know is if the winners had QPs or picked their own numbers. Does the PB/MUSL Web site provide that information? I don't recall seeing it there.
