New Jersey lottery players, check your numbers:  a lottery ticket worth about $165,000 was sold in a Bayonne convenience store.

Hye Mart Inc., at 224 East 21st St., Bayonne, sold one of the three winning Jersey Cash 5 jackpot tickets for the drawing held on Sunday, New Jersey Lottery officials said. The other two winning tickets were sold in Mercer and Union counties.

The owners of three tickets will split the top prize of $495,684.

Acting Executive Director Michellene Davis said those three tickets were the only ones sold for Sunday's drawings that matched all five numbers drawn. The winning numbers were: 04, 08, 25, 26 and 31.

The Mercer County winning ticket was purchased at Risoldi's Thriftway, 3100 Quakerbridge Road, Mercerville and the Union County winning ticket was purchased at Ella's Bar and Grill, 648 Franklin St., Elizabeth.

The owner of the ticket purchased in Bayonne has not yet claimed the prize, said Jennifer Szczepanski, an account coordinator at New Jersey Lottery.

In addition to the top three winners in Sunday's drawing, 3,829 players won $89,864 in cash prizes.  For correctly matching four numbers, 107 players won cash prizes of $492 each and for correctly matching three numbers, 3,722 players won $10 each.

I would like to see NY Take Five changed to a jackpot game.

$165,000 is a big jackpot for pick 5. NY Take Five, are you listening?

CO, you mean with jackpots as high as Lotto, with the same pick 5 odds?

Well what do people want free tickets for two numbers and 20 bucks for three numbers or big jackpots?

Big Jackpots that rollover.  NJ Cash 5 is a perfect example of what all Pick 5 games should be like.

With the terrible prizes in NY Lotto, and its annuity-only scratch games, NY "needs" a jackpot version of Take Five.

If you read the story above, you'll see the jackpot for the Pick 5 win was $495,684 (3 people won).  Also, the NJ Pick 5 game jackpot has gone over a million dollars a couple of times.  Now THAT'S what I call a Pick 5 game!

DANG! Sounds like the NJ pick5 follows close behind the NJ Lotto jackpot. I like it. New York Lottery, are you listening?

The NY Lottery doesn't listen to its players.
