You can't win if you prefer annuity.

If that's true then why were there two Powerball jackpot winners that took the annuity option (although one was forced because he waited too long to make the decision)?

They're only changing the game because so many tickets were hitting early in the year. From January through February, they had four winners, averaging ~$19.2 million. Since March, the same number of tickets won, but averaging ~$66 million. If PB would have just waited, they wouldn't have to have changed the odds on the game. But I do like the increases in payouts. That's not the only reason they changed. They have added a lot of states the past 2 years. Plus with Mega Millions adding California and changing their matrix, PB needed to change their matrix in order to compete. How can Powerball compete with Mega Millions though? With Mega adding California, its rollovers cannot be matched. Powerball will be changing its matrix for nothing. There's no point if it doesn't result in higher rollovers.

I think Powerball and Mega Millions can compete. The only side effect Powerball has it only has 42 PB. I wish they had 46 or 47 PB.

I would much rather see more white balls than red ones. Also with more white balls the smaller prizes can be bigger without hitting a powerball.
