Eleven dental workers at Warren Family Dental in Howland, Ohio had been playing the multi-state Mega Millions lottery game for a year in hopes of winning big. This past week, one group member who usually doesn't play mistakenly bought an Ohio Super Lotto ticket for the group. All six of the numbers were drawn Saturday, making the dental workers winners of the $15 million jackpot. Nick Grano of the Ohio Lottery Commission said some of the women came to the regional office in Youngstown Tuesday evening to claim their prize but their names will not be disclosed publicly until all the winners come into the office. The dental office plans to schedule a news conference once all the winners have filled out the proper paperwork at the Ohio Lottery Commission. The ticket with the winning numbers — 4-11-13-22-34-40 — was sold at the Giant Eagle store in Howland, about 15 miles northwest of Youngstown. AP We'd love to see your comments here! This is when you know it's your time, when you play the wrong game and hit !
I bet the person they sent to get the tix felt awful until the numbers came out, now he/she is the other's bestest friend. DD

I wish I could make a goof like that and end up a millionaire. How are you going to win if you don't play?

May sound like sour grapes but northern ohio in the Toledo and Cleveland areas does win quite a bit. Be nice to see it happen in Southern Ohio a little more often. I know people who won't play due to the disappointment with the distribution. Happy lottery gaming.

This is one case where the person buying the tickets for the pool will be thanked for making a mistake. I wonder if they will pool money after this win and tell that person to go make another mistake.

Just think how pissed the other group members would have been if he played the wrong game and they had correct numbers on the right game.

Wednesday June 29th, 2005 I understand how easy this can happen. I run two Lottery Pools. One is the Mega Million and I have 26 people in the current drawing. (This Lottery Pool I've been running for over a year.) In addition, I run the Die Hard Lottery Pool. We normally play all the Texas Games (Cash Five, Texas Two-Step and Lotto Texas). This game only has 11 people playing it. Most of the time, both group will expire at different times. But one time both games needed tickets. I mistakenly bought Mega Million tickets for my Die Hard group. No one was upset, the Jack Pot was high, and the Die Hard game is designed to handle any lottery pool. I did worry what people would think if the small group had won, and not the larger pool. These things happened. Michael Michael E. Porter meporter@myway.com
