    Todd,

I understand what you are trying to convey with your "factual" message but the target of your message either does not get it or refuses to alter their behavior.

Look at all the current News threads - 99% have the last reply by one of two members. Collectively the two members have contributed very little to the discussions. I believe their motivation is two-fold. One, see their name appear as many times as possible on certain pages and, two, increase their post count.

As a user of your message board I find it very frustrating to follow valid discussions.

Good luck (you will need it),
    Jake

      Jake:

The cool thing about this new feature Todd added, the Block feature, allows you, me, anyone to not have to see posts by others on the board whom we've chosen to block.  Gets Todd completely out of the picture insofar as having to intervene in these matters.

I'm not sure yet whether the feature also keeps a member from being notified by email when a person on the Block list makes a post, but I expect I'll know shortly.

If thy eye offends thee, pluck it out.

        Rip Snorter,

The block feature is only available to upgraded memberships. I think it is a better solution to try to convince someone to improve their behavior.

        Good luck,
        Jake

I wasn't aware of that.  Thanks for advising me of it.

I'm surprised anyone without an upgraded membership would feel moved to complain about the workings of a free site, I suppose.  Comes under the heading of looking a gift-horse in the mouth.
