To give up pleasure to collect trash and mop the floors? -- These guys are out of their minds to want back a lousy job like that and in a dangerous city to boot!

The whole world out there - and the best they can think of is to go back to their old job. Is there an IQ limitation that the Lotto God has placed on winners? Sheeeeeeeeeeesh ! I agree with that sentiment, to the extent that is there are so many creative things that someone can do, once they no longer have to worry about money. Why go back to a job in which your personal impact is so small? Do something larger in life! True. You still have to answer the alarm clock, be on time for work, etc... Not worth it. To Lotteries: Stop recording our # combinations, and figure out another way to rollover the $$$.

These guys remind me of the clown who won the lottery and wanted to buy a trackor with brakes (do they sell them without brakes?), or the one who was going to buy a new refrigirator (versus a used one). It shows the Lotto God has a real cruel streak. I visualize them going into the store to buy a candy bar and getting a lotto ticket by mistake. Some of the vintage tractors don't have brakes that work. Having said that, I'll also say you have me down pat. I like to think I'd repair the vehicles I bought because those are the ones that I wanted. These guys don't share your world view, maybe share mine to some extent. There's room in the universe and the circle of people who win to hold all views on the matter without any taking away from the other. No point in anyone becoming someone he doesn't care about being just because he wins a lottery. Jack

Well they get the city health benefits and health care is not cheap as you get older. Also I bet they are trying to hit the 20 year or 25 year retirement point so they get a pension and health care assistance.

I noticed, with the last couple of BIG winners, they have been providing an advance (or around $1M). I don't think I would ever see the front door of my employer again!
