UK National Lottery: Milkman to return to 3am starts after Lottery winA milkman who won £1.4 million (US$2.52 million) in the UK Lotto has vowed to continue his job - and its 3am starts.
Colin Bradley, 44, and wife, Pauline, 48, from Preesall, Lancashire, hit the jackpot after ditching their regular numbers for a lucky dip.
Today, Mr Bradley had a day off, sipping champagne instead of delivering pints, as he picked up a check from Camelot for £1,482,086 (US$2,665,433). Unlike lotteries in the United States, there are no taxes on UK Lotto prizes.
"I was awake at 3am as normal today. I have done it for the last 30 years and I can't envisage suddenly being able to lie in bed until 10am," he said.
Mrs Bradley, a nursing sister at a GP practice, plans to go back to work also.
"It's back to work tomorrow for both of us," she added.
She had chosen a Lucky Dip after spilling a Chinese meal over their regular lottery ticket at home.
The numbers - 7, 11, 12, 20, 38 and 44 - came up in Saturday night's draw.
Mrs Bradley said: "I was upstairs running a bath and my hubby was on the sofa falling asleep.
"I said 'I think I have won the lottery.'
"He said 'What? A tenner?'
"I said 'No. I think I have got six numbers.'
"He checked the numbers and said 'Oh my God! Yes, you have won.' It hasn't really sunk in yet.
The couple say they have no immediate plans for spending the cash, except for a New York shopping trip for Mrs Bradley and their daughter, Louise, 25, a holiday rep working in Rhodes.
