South Carolina Lottery: S.C. Lottery suspends sales due to computer glitch
South Carolina Lottery officials suspended sales of the Pick 3 and Pick 4 games Thursday after there was a problem upgrading software.
It was not clear when sales or cashing in of winning tickets would resume, South Carolina Education Lottery spokeswoman Tara Robertson said.
"It's an accounting issue on both parts, in cashing in and on what the retailer owes the lottery on their invoice," she said. "If you were to come in and cash a ticket and it was for $1, it may say that it's for $2 or vice versa."
The problem occurred after the midday drawings. Thursday night's Pick 3 and Pick 4 drawings took place as scheduled at 6:59 p.m.
The company that helps operate the games, Scientific Games International, recommended the lottery stop selling Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets after the software installed Thursday morning didn't work as expected, Robertson said.
Sales of Palmetto Cash 5 and Powerball tickets were not affected.

We're stuck with them here in PA also :-(
I keep an eye on SC lottery every now and again because if the MUSL ever slips up and lets my numbers come out, I'm making a beeline for Horry County ;-) (Beachfront in North Myrtle Beach... Paradise on earth)
I was out in the hot tub with the Mrs. at 10PM at Seawatch resort in NMB,SC getting cooled off by the occasional warm rain bands of Ophelia as she passed by thinking I would trade this for a freezing rain storm in PA anyday! OF course, I wouldn't have wanted to be in NC, where she made landfall. Playing more than one ticket per game is betting against yourself.

SC already loses days because it's NOT allowed to sell tickets when an election is held. AFAIK it's the only state to have such a prohibition.
