Whether or not the winner takes the offer, Long John Silver's has gotten publicity, maybe all they wanted in the first place.

the guy or wormen is probley too scared to come out of the house in fear that someone has found out. If i was him i would let the lawyer collect the money n try to keep a low profile.

Bash

I wonder how much a winner has to pay a lawyer to collect a lottery prize?

Any idea? anyone?

HAPPY WEDNESDAY........

Actually, here in Maryland, the Attorney will happily  create a Trust Fund for you and deposit the Prize winnings in there for you, and the winner never ever has to do a News Conference, if they don't care to. No one ever has to know who you are.  The only info given to the public is the name of the Grocery Store or Liquor Store, where the ticket (s) were purchased. Your business relationship and rapor w/the Atty is what determines his fee. In other words, there is no standard fee for the Atty who drops by the Lottery Office w/o/without you to claim the Prize winnings.  However, I would certainly be on hand as the Check is turned over to the Atty for the Trust Fund, If (and that's a BIG IF) I didn't want anyone to know that I won.

Trust NO ONE...w/your money, not even the Atty(God Bless Him)....Let him place the Winnings in the Trust Fund, but be there when he picks up the Prize.

See Ya!

I would never move out of Maryland, if I ever win anything.  No Way....I would certainly purchase a couple of Summer Homes, and purchase Real Estate out of State, near the Beach, because I love the Water, but Maryland is my home, and it's my Foundation. I would certainly be able to call other places "home"....but the 1ST HOME...will always be in Maryland. No matter where I lounge at the Beach, or take extended travel to.

Actually, I live in Lincoln, where the winning ticket was sold, and the jackpot winners (the group of 7 employees from the nearby Cook's smoked-meat business) will hold a news conference tomorrow morning at 10:30 CST at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in downtown Lincoln.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY "99"

I am very pleased that the prize will indeed be shared among a group of people(working class) shall we say, who really need the money.  It's nice to know that it's not just one single affluent indiviual, that's what concerned me, although, I feel that whoever wins, was intended to win, and deserves CONGRATS...But, it's just very nice to see people, who reallllllllyyyyyy need the funds get such an awesome opportunity.

Do you think anyone in this group will take them up on the offer? I imagine so, especially if they have eaten at LJS, and I would venture to guess at least one of them has.
