Tennessee Lottery

The Tennessee Lottery is giving the state $79.6 million for education today, a record for a single quarter since the lottery began more than two years ago, lottery officials announced.

Since the games' inception, $567 million has been raised for education. Most of that has gone into an education account paying for college scholarships. Of the total, $8.9 million has gone into the after-school program account.

Net sales for the third quarter, Jan. 1-March 31, were $265.9 million, bringing the total so far to close to $1.9 billion.

"We'll continue to keep the games fresh and exciting to continue this momentum," said lottery president and chief executive officer Rebecca Paul in a statement. "It's a great day for Tennessee, and an even better day for its students."

So far it has came a long way.  I think they would do even better if they offered lotto 5 daily rather than 3 times a week.  I think TN players really enjoy this game.  Maybe even start an instate pick 6.  (If we are lucky)
