Oklahoma LotteryOklahoma Lottery: Oklahoma bans some businesses from selling lottery tickets

A bill to prohibit pawn shops, payday lenders and check-cashing businesses from selling Oklahoma lottery tickets has won final legislative approval.

The bill by Senator Kathleen Wilcoxson passed the Senate yesterday and now goes to the governor.

The state Lottery Commission voted last year to prohibit those businesses from selling lottery tickets but Wilcoxson says the law will prevent future Lottery Commissions from reversing the decision.

The commission had initially agreed to allow lottery sales at the shops but changed the rule after drawing criticism.
