For nearly 16 years, the men -- all current and former Delphi employees -- pooled their money to buy $50 worth of lottery tickets each week. After buying $41,000 in tickets, they finally matched all six numbers in the July 1 drawing. "This was the last week we were going to play. We made a joke leaving work saying, 'Wouldn't it be nice to hit the lottery this last time?'" said Dick Quinn, 59, who managed the workers' lottery pool. The winners all decided to take the cash option, worth $3.7 million. Each got an equal share of $370,000 before taxes, except Quinn, who bought two tickets and got $740,000, lottery officials said. I've been buying $1,500-$2,000 worth of tickets yearly for about 10 years, I guess I'm going have to spend more if I expect to do as well as these guys. I came close once, I matched 5of6 for $1,500 playing the SuperLottoPlus game before Ohio got rid of it. * that which happens most * * is most likely to happen again *

Good for them. It nice that they won something since they would all soon be out of jobs. Dance like no one is watching.

Why is the factory closing? Did they take cash value? I hope they don't have financial problems later in life.

I wish them all a lot of luck. I don't know how they ran the pool and what rules they decided on, but it's a little odd that the person who managed the pool is the only player getting double. Don't most people buy an equal share in a company pool?

Don't most people buy an equal share in a company pool? With nine members, it was probably easier to have 10 shares to make the math easier or someone dropped out and he bought the extra share to keep the amount spent the same. Before I retired I was in a 20 man pool and when one dropped out, the guy running the pool bought the extra share for his mother so we would still have 20x$5 to spend as always. Everyone in the pool had a chance to buy it before he did. * that which happens most * * is most likely to happen again *
