Cops can't protect you when you go out to buy your tickets (and imply you should expect to be robbed now and then) but legislators don't want you to buy your tickets online, where you would be safe from armed thugs. Typical gov't "service".

I agree, time*treat. What a moronic statement made by the police. Funny, I could have sworn some homeless people were beaten on the streets of Fort Lauderdale earlier this year. duh! So if you are poor and homeless or have money to buy lottery tickets, you are both targets. I guess they are saying that the morally corrupt pick and choose their victims by class.
