The bottom line is that he paid his debt to society...
As such, that part shouldn't have been mentioned. That is wreckless endangerment by the media.
Blame society for not extracting a higher debt. In my personal opinion, anyone who attacks a child, a senior citizen, or anone in a defenseless position should not be allowed back into the general public. But I don't make the rules. 23 months should have been 23 years... or more. The child won't get their innocence back, the offender shouldn't get their freedom back.
BUT, society was ok with 23 months and set him free. As a parent, I am disgusted, but as a lottery player, I still think it's wreckless to release winner's identities. My "record" is limited to one speeding ticket at age 17.. If I win, will the headline read "Leadfoot wins powerball"?
Playing more than one ticket per game is betting against yourself.
