A winning Mega Millions ticket was sold at Freeman Market in Hawthorne, California, and officials are waiting for the winner of Friday night's drawing to come forward. The winner has 180 days from the date of the draw to claim the prize.
The winning MegaMillions numbers were 28, 30, 33, 48, and 54, with the Mega Number 25.
A winner choosing annual payments would receive equal payments of about $4.3 million a year before federal tax withholding for the next 26 years, a California Lottery official said.
If the cash option is chosen, the prize would be more than $60 million before income taxes are deducted. A winner has the opportunity to choose to take the cash value of their jackpot prize within 60 days of the claim date.
Freeman Market, a small grocery store where the ticket was sold, will receive a retailer bonus of $560,000 for selling the winning ticket.
It would have been nice if that jackpot grew a bit larger. It makes playing more exciting, even if you don't win. The only large jackpot we've had was that one in March that had two winners, but other than that, it's been pretty dull.

sure hope someone claims the ticket befor the 180 rule ;
can you see hitting the lottery and then dying or losing the ticket or just not checking the ticket;
the fact no one claimes it gives me concern since it makes the lottery look susipecious ; since if anyone afetr the 180 day rule would recieve it - that would be the state lottery;
112 million is a lot of loot - to get greedy and hold on to that what they claim is a -no - show ;

How can even winning the minimum jackpot of 12 million be dull
I guess the glass can be half full and half empty cause jackpots
not reaching enourmous amounts means that they are passing out that
money more rapidly (somebodys winning) and thats why I play the game
i feel great. looks like the last two big jackpots for the meagamillions was in states i have tickets. i am just going to wait and see if the winners come forward. if not i will be one happy mofo to check my ticket when it comes due. i will be glad to jump on the plane with the family in tow and go get the money. if i didn't win well it was a nice dream. i glad the ticket was purchased in southern cali because that is where my ticket is from.

For smaller jackpots and better odds, I play my local state lottery. When I play the mega millions, I want a mega jackpot. $112 million is a lot of money yes, but, after the lump sum cash option, then after taxes, its as appealing as my local state lotto. Look at how much excitement the Mega Millions generated this past March. Now if I was the only one who felt this way, you would be hearing about a $112 million dollar pot just as much, but you don't because unfortunately, many people have become desensitized to such a number. It just doesn't have the "wow" factor to it the causes people to take a few minutes to dream when they buy the ticket. I'm in marketing, I have a pretty good understanding of what sells, and if the Mega Millions and Powerball lotteries generated larger pots of 200-300 million dollars more often, then would see more publicity and excitement period.
must be nice. Someone is having a blast right now. Wish I was one of them. Party on new winners, party on ! I can only imagine how it must feel.
