30 days is too short..... How did she know if they were winners? 
She found out they were winners the same way anyone else does. If she had been able to tell ahead of time that they were winners she would have been able to buy them and wouldn't be going to jail for stealing them.

Yes i heard of Catherine the Great (I got A's in history), but she was forced to go to war because of the time she lived in..I think she was from Russia or France & i think her cousin went crazy..And times have changed...Women back then were more "Crazy" than women now...We lived in a modern area where we resolve our problems with diplomacy...Back then i don't think they had diplomats....I think if women ran the world there wouldn't be no wars...Well maybe in the middle east...But everywhere else it will be the same... Pumpi, I really don't read a lot of history books. If I were a contestant on Jeopardy and that were a subject, I'd surely lose. However, I know she was a powerful ruler who transformed Russia and you are always talking about women as helpless, weak creatures. I'm sure Emily was referring to the rumor of her death. Although it's probably one of those historical myths that gets passed along throughout the years, supposedly she died having sex with her horse. In other words, most people mount horses but people claim they mounted her. In those days they didn't have email or TV, but apparently people were able to spread nasty rumors anyway. Biographies write that she had an active sex life and her opponents liked to slander her. (She actually was very ill and died in bed.) Politics hasn't changed too much, has it? LOL
