Maryland LotteryMaryland Lottery: Maryland Lottery Countdown to Millions raffle results

The Maryland Lottery's latest raffle-style game, Countdown to Millions, was drawn Saturday, and will make four instant millionaires.

The winning numbers can be found here:

http://www.lotterypost.com/specialresults/md-lottery-raffle-2007-07-07.asp

Countdown to Millions is a raffle game offered by the Maryland Lottery, with a limited number of $20 tickets.

With only 420,000 tickets available for the raffle, Countdown to Millions offers the best odds to win $1 million of any Maryland Lottery game.

There is one drawing on July 7, 2007 to select four $1 million prize winners, eight $50,000 prize winners, 200 $1,000 prize winners, and 600 $500 prize winners.

I went back on my word and broke down and brought one ticket about 11 hours before the drawing. That number was 238313 which did not win a thing.  What I don't understand is how the MSLA can release numbers like...625,000 tickets sold, when at 12:15 on the day of the drawing, they had sold under 239,000 tickets.

Anyway, the tickets are too expensive at $20.00 a pop. I will not participate in the raffle style drawings again. I brought 4 tickets with the first drawing in january and won nothing. $80.00 down the drain.

NOoooooo More Maryland State Lottery!!!

not trying to start a problem, but where did you read or hear this

MSLA can release numbers like...625,000 tickets sold

They only sold close to 300 thousand tickets. And were supposed to sell only 420,000 tickets

IF it's any consolidation i didn't win either with the 2 tickets i bought for this drawing. One ticket did come close #110783.

regardless of the fact that we didn't win 812 lucky people will get paid some portion of the loot.

yes i agree the ticket is expensive however if you had won any portion of the prize it wouldn't have bothered you a bit.

I cant recall how many times i bought raffle tickets for the various things in Maryland and never seemed to win until that one day when it was all worth the expense when i won a 600 dollar prize on a 10 dollar ticket.

When the lottery sells a game like this with 200 thousand or more tickets and only 812 people are going to win something it's all about luck.

I pasted thewrong number into the article.  It has been corrected to read "420,000 tickets available".

        Thanks for the correction Todd.

Four, that's where I read the 650,000 #, in the original print on LP before the correction.

My point was that, I thought that MD Lottery was exaggerating the numbers of patronage. Therefore, knowing that the amount sold was fewer, and that I wasn't even close,LOL, I felt really fed up with this game.

I still don"t like this game, mainly because of the price, oh, and the fact that I haven't won a cent.

You know, I've also participated in many raffles here. But they all benifited an organization or school or a family in need. The Lottery is raking in millions without a real clear measure or show of how their funds are benifiting anyone.

I've reviewed their PIE charts, but the only true companies that I know of who has benifited from the MD Lottery in recent years are the RAVEN'S Stadium and the MD Lottery. THere use to be funds going to the school systems years ago but that was cut when the Ravens needed a stadium.

Bring back the School funds and a large portion going to it, and I may participate. Oh, yes, I have cut my daily play dramatically.

oh i see now i though your read or heard about it in the news papers or something of that nature.

i agree that Maryland has put a lot of lottery money in the stadiums coffers.

according to them Designated proceeds from the Mega Millions game benefit the Stadium Authority.  In FY2006, $20,500,000 was contributed to the Stadium Authority.

this is not to include the sale of scratch tickets which mostly benefit the stadiums. I could have sworn we paid for those stadiums to be built with our tax dollars now they use the lottery money for it's upkeep.

I bought two raffle tickets because i won a couple pick 3 straights so i had spending money. otherwise i might not have bought a ticket.

               UPDATE;

I went to my favorite lottery store.....and they sold one of the $50,000.00 winners in the Count Down to Millions raffle, to one of the regulars. I'm so happy for her. The store has now sold two big wins in the lastmonth or so, the 1.1million multi match and now this.

I hope that the luck of the draw continues to spead around to the regular patrons, including ME!

              Four4me:

the first drawing in January, I brought 4 tickets off of winning from the lottery also.

              Good Luck everybody.
