Michigan Lottery again to offer $50 Super Raffle tickets
Michigan Lottery again to offer $50 Super Raffle ticketsPosted: 9/14/2007 6:37:36 PM Michigan residents can start dreaming of potential purchases next week when they get another chance to try their luck at one of Michigan's most expensive lottery games. Residents can fork over $50 for one of 250,000 tickets the Michigan Lottery will begin selling at 6 a.m. Monday for its second Super Raffle. Two $2 million prize-winning tickets will be drawn Oct. 22, or within 10 days after tickets sell out. Those who don't win millionaire status in the raffle could win one of 25 $100,000 prizes or one of 4,500 payouts of $500 apiece. In June, a Swartz Creek man who bought a ticket at a Wixom food market won $100,000 in the raffle. Tickets for the drawing were sold out in less than three days. Source: Flint Journal

I might actually buy one this time. I highly doubt it will sell out in less than 3 days though. The last $20 raffle had 625,000 tickets and it took them 11 days to sell them all. I think we are getting over raffled..but I could be wrong. Brad

Of all the lottery games, this one has the best odds, which is why I cannot resist. Luckily, I will be splitting the cost with my brother.

The only way I would play is if I went in with a partner or pool. $50 is too much at one pop for me.

I agree. $50 for a shot at $2,000,000 out of $12,500,000 worth of tickets sold? No thank you. But look at the odds; they will sell 250,000 tickets and have two $2 million winners. Every ticket sold has the same 1 in 125,000 chance of winning. I wonder how many people bought $50 worth of PB or Mega Millions tickets, used your math, and thought nothing of having a 1 in 3,520,000 chance in PB or a 1 in 3,500,000 in MM? Granted the jackpots in PB and MM are much higher but unless you buy a duplicate in your $50, only one ticket can win where in this raffle one ticket has 2 chances of winning. Some of the $20 raffles had ten $1 million winners. Which is a better bet for the same $20?
