There is no point in publicly getting the money unless you want to be famous, with all the attendant problems. People seem to misunderstand the point of claiming anonymously. It is not so no one at all will ever find out - you assume your family and friends will - it is to keep your name out of the papers and internet and keep the beggars, thieves, con men, moochers, long lost cousins, etc. away from your door and your phone. Having $150 million is life changing enough without the circus going on every time you walk out your door.
However, if I were young and single and looking to meet women, I'd probably put my picture out there.
Absolutely, I think I've said it before, my main reason for wanting to claim while keeping my identity "safe" would be so that I wouldn't have a picture of me (without a disguise at least, heh) out there with my name attached to it in papers and floating all over the internet. I'm still young and I'm single but I wouldn't want my name out there to meet women either because it'd do more to attract the kind I don't think I'd want to be involved with. As far as being found out by immediate family, that is a slightly less of a concern that would be easier to handle, unless they decided to rob me, haha which with many of them that wouldn't be too far off, I personally feel no attachment to any of them so it wouldn't be hard for me to tell them where to get off, as I've already said several times, they're not people I'd long to have in my life, I might even go as far as to say that even goes for my own mother or grandmother.
I know it's not something that could easily be kept secret from everyone but having to deal with a dozen annoying people bugging you about money would certainly be easier than being bugged by a thousand every week. Even if you moved, had a unlisted number and everything they could still find you because once your name is out there it's out and there's nothing you can do about it, you could move and someone you meet could go to Google and type your name in and find out in a matter of seconds and then they'll talk and word will get around about the "new rich guy in town who didn't make his money, he won it". Well, maybe if you change your name too...
