"after becoming one of 10 people who chose the right number."
That is exactly what happens when you play fortune cookie numbers, you will be "sharing" with many others usually. They should make sure every cookie has different numbers. Also many millions of people go winless using such numbers, and only get recognition when they finally hit, then give the "universal message" inside credit for the win; and quickly forget about the past thousands and thousands of losing numbers.

Which leads to another question, do I have to go and eat overpriced Chinese to get a cookie, or can I just order a whole bag online and play the numbers? Maybe I will try both and keep palying the numbers

You can just buy them in a grocery store if they have a "world foods" aisle or something. With odds like 1 in 175,711,536 how can I lose?!
You can't predict random.

Oh yeah, think I saw them at Walmart before in that aisle. Will check again.

Found some! I wonder if any cookie ever said, "You ain't ever gonna win crap you loser!"? That would suck. The Lachoy type I got doesn't seem to have any lottery numbers, only one message on the front! What a rip.

Hmm...I just got chinese food last night, and usually the fortune cookies I get are an obvious saying, or something just plain bizzare..like "smile and others will smile back at you", "a distant relative will phone you soon," blah blah...I finally got one that was something interesting, it said "There are many unexpected & thrilling surprises in store for you!" Nothing really special or unexpected has happened in probably a year, i was thinkin of giving the numbers on it a couple tries at the end of the week

This past weekend when I went to Publix supermarket to buy my Lotto tickets, sitting on the green stand that holds the cards & pencils were 2 small strips of paper that looked exactly like the fortunes from a Chinese cookie. They both had some Chinese symbols on one side and English words with numbers on the other with "Your Lucky Numbers" but I threw them away. I really didn't want to get any more numbers in my head! Apparently another player left them there.

Good grief, I never would have thought this number would have won.
"He had used the numbers 11, 12, 22, 23, 24 and 36"
Just goes to show you never know. Quando Porca Volare!

I bought 3 different brands of cookies in stores, and so far none of them have numbers on them!

I can be a statistic for fortune cookie luck....Me and the woman save our fortunes but one set stood out.Not only was it red and all others I had were blue, but the numbers looked like extremely winnable cash 5 numbersIplayed for a month and all I got was 2 3/5 hits. For the hell of it I used them for powerball.2 or 3 drawings later I banged it for 400(4 nums and the multiplier). The sad part is the PB # for that night I had 1 row up on my ticket and it was my fav powerball number at the time.I should've had had 40 G's but tis what happens you don't pair your fav set with fav PB # I guess
