He may get more than 5 mil. From the original story:

"The lucky doorman actually won the prize May 2, when he bought a $10Set for Life instant ticket, which pays $5,000 a week for life and guarantees a minimum of $5 million. Winners get $65,000 every three months, or $41,926 after taxes." (emphasis, mine)

I agree on the anonymity thing.

hmm... i thought the set for life has a MAXIMUM payout not minimum payout.  I will have to look at the one here for TX.

Here's an example that's less than a year old.

"As the winner of the Lottery's Set For Life instant game, Gerard Wilson is guaranteed to receive a "Minimum Payout" of $5 Million dollars, to be paid in Quarterly installments for AS LONG AS HE LIVES."

From the New York lottery site.  http://www.org/ny/nyStore/cgi-bin/WinnerNewsDetail_Cat_353_NavRoot_304_ProdID_1353993.htm

So, it looks like our beloved Doorman will be paid for quite some time.  At least until he actually dies.

                                                                                 Good luck to him!

Or if he decides to take a settlement price from an annuity buyer.

I dunno, but on one of her websites, it says she frequents New York due to her Modeling career. Well, he is a doorman at apparently quite an upscale Apt./Condo complex. There may be a tie-in somewhere!!  But of course, I truly don't know. Your guess is probably better than mine!

" Yay another "moron" wins the lottery. You can tell he is not very competent at all, and will be bankrupt and begging for his job back in a few years or less." Sir Brad

There is so much bitterness on this board.  "I didn't win so this guy must be an idiot."  Why is everyone judging this man as if he was unemployed or homeless and suddenly won some money?  He had a very good job before he won the lottery.   He's single and owns a house in Brooklyn, so he could have invested his money wisely for years.  I don't understand all the comments, since I've gambled in Vegas, Paradise Island, Freeport, Aruba, St Martin, Puerto Rico and other places, and I wasn't frivolous with my money.  I was on vacation.  Maybe he's just having fun!

they were actually on I think "Inside Edition" on tv I watched last night.  They asked her what she thought about the people who thinks she's there for the money.  She said that they could think what they want she didn't care. She was standing behind her story that she really likes him.  He seemed really happy, even pointing at her and saying something like "Who wouldn't be happy with a girl like this!".  I don't know.......only time can tell.......will have to watch and see.

Oh, they said they met I THINK in Vegas ...I can't quite recall, my memory is so bad.  They said they met while she was on a photo shoot.  The $$$ must of gave him the confidence to approach her lol.

Hey thanks.

It would have been a better story if they met before he was in the money.

Its not like he didnt inform everyone that he loved women..i take my hat off to him and would open his door (haha), hes 44 and he is enjoying his freedom that the money won has allotted him.  I would do exactly the same.. Everyone is making it seem like he is the one being preyed upon, hes the older one here and ultimately the one in control therefore.....carry on my good man!!
