I would love for Idaho to get a Keno game.

We got one Keno draw every day here in Norway and that's enough.

I would probably compare the new Keno game in Ohio to the off track betting the race tracks had for years. We don't have to bet on each race at all the other tracks; it's an option just like a Pick-3 player has the option to play Rolling Cash 5 or Mega Millions.

Bars, taverns and other settings where people can sit down relax, eat, or drink will benefit the most. People can play Keno while eating their meal and depending on the popularity, some businesses may expand with Keno parlors. One of the reasons for offering Keno is the state wide smoking ban that has hurt some of these businesses and adding Keno to their menu could help them stay in business.

The state already has over 8000 retailers selling scratch-off and probably has created problem gamblers, but that can be said when any type of gambling is offered. Being a Keno player, I agree it can become addicting and having 15 drawings an hour, 14 hours a day, 7 days a week makes it tempting. With that type of a schedule I doubt anybody will be compelled to play every game and most players will use common sense.

It's not the same as in a Vegas casino where people put $20 into a slot machine waiting for the results on $2 Keno bet.

The terminals are mostly located in bars, taverns, restaurants, and bowling lanes in the cities with larger populations. I'm about 25 miles from the nearest and haven't played, but I will and let you know. The Ohio Lottery web site has a list of the Keno retailers and shows the results of each drawing. Players can cash their winning tickets at any of the regular lottery terminals too.

I noticed that some of the service clubs that require membership have Keno terminals. I'm sure someone will question how a public state lottery game could be in private club especially if it's the only one in a smaller populated area.
