Pennsylvania Lottery's new Quinto game starts tomorrow
Pennsylvania Lottery: Pennsylvania Lottery's new Quinto game starts tomorrow
The Pennsylvania Lottery is adding Quinto, a numbers game similar to The Daily Number and BIG 4, but played with five numbers instead, to its lineup of mid-day and evening drawings.
"The Pennsylvania Lottery constantly strives to provide its players with new and innovative games," said Lottery Executive Director Ed Trees. "Quinto, which offers multiple ways to play and a top prize of $50,000 cash, will appeal to players who enjoy playing The Daily Number and BIG 4 games."
Quinto tickets go on sale Aug. 26, the same day its first mid-day and evening drawings will take place. Quinto drawings will be held twice daily, seven days a week.
Players may purchase Quinto tickets for mid-day and evening drawings up to seven days in advance. Quinto costs $1 per play and players can choose, or allow the Lottery terminal to quick-pick, a five-digit number.
To win Quinto prizes, players must match all five digits in the exact order they are drawn (straight), match all five digits in any order (box), or match exactly the first two digits (front pair), first three digits (front three), first four digits (front four), last two digits (back pair), last three digits (back three) or last four digits (back four).
Quinto prizes range from $50 to $50,000 cash. A straight wager for any five digits in exact order pays $50,000 and a boxed wager pays $425.
Pennsylvania lottery players can view a chart of all possible Quinto matches, odds and payouts on Lottery Post's Event Calendar listing, http://www.lotterypost.com/calendar.aspx?d=8/26/2008.
Tickets for prizes up to and including $2,500 can be validated and paid at any terminal-based retail location, and winning tickets may be redeemed up to one year from the drawing date for which they were purchased.

I think it sounds like a good game myself. Nice to see the Pennsylvania Lottery giving it full Midday and Evening drawings right from the start.

WOW! that game looks really interesting. Should be fun to watch to see what way people find to play as there are ALOT of options on how to play. Too bad I am 3 hours from the Penn boarder too far to travel to try to play. Money won is twice as good as money earned!

Is it ball drawn or RNG? What is your conceptual continuity? __________________________________________________

It is available on the Game Info page for each game (linked above), but the short version is that they will work just like the other numbers games: computerized for Midday, ball machine for Evening.

That is amazing. RNG by day! Ballz by night. They got it backwards the monster is supposed to come out at night.
Thanks Todd.

actually this game gives u the possibility to play it as a P4 or p3 straight front and back so it can be played as just an additional p3 or p4 game to the existing ones...

I'll like to try some Quinto myself.. a few thoughts:
- What will you call a number like 32332? A Full House?
- the equivalent of Quads (Quints?) will only be drawn about every 15 years! Thus it is entirely possible for the game to run its entire course without ever that kind of number being drawn or even some other rare combination types.
- The PA Midday (including Treasure Hunt which is Midday only) is computerized but the Evening is a ball drawing. You're saying the same thing with Quinto?
- The Pairs or First Three etc. options are silly, why not play the same thing on the Pick-3? Instead of 123XX on the Q just play 123 STR Pick-3. At least until the Quinto base is long enough to systemize!

Massachusetts has a Pick 4 game that can be played like Pick 3. That game's not silly either.
A Powerball combination is drawn once in every some-odd million years. Why do you care that 99.9% of the Powerball combinations will never be drawn in its lifetime, yet for Quinto, which has a "somewhat" shorter time to achieve the same thing, it is looked as a negative thing?
For your computerized question, yes, that's what I said. Now there's an area I'll be agreeing with you, if you choose to criticize the computerized drawings. They are silly. The game, however, is just different from what you're used to, although really not by a lot.

And the 1st QUINTO NUMBERS EVER...
Tuesday AUGUST 26 MIDDAY = 3 - 4 - 7 - 4 - 2
Tuesday AUGUST 26 EVENING = 6 - 8 - 5 - 8 - 6
Well I must say that I have always wondered why they don't have this kind of game in other states, and here it is ! A couple of observations.... THE Midday result was ALMOST A plaindrome (same backward as forward like 626 or 717 BUT the EVENING result was!! (68586) I live in florida but yeah i wish we had a game like this here !
MY PREDICITONS FOR WEDNESDAY'S DRAWINGS... MIDDAY = 9 0 8 4 5
EVENING = 1 9 6 3 2
good luck every one !

Front pair, back pair, front three, back three, front four, and back four are all back-up bets. It's an extra bet option like in pick-3 games where a player plays a straight number like 795 and plays the front pair 79, back pair 95, and/or boxes it. The Texas Lottery offers the front pair, back pair, and mid pair option on its pick-4 game.
Some people might play their 3 pet straight numbers in the Pick-3 and Quinto, but the option is really for those wanting to get a payday matching 3 or 4 straight of their picked Quinto numbers. The payoff percentages are the same as pick-3 and pick-4; 50 cents on the dollar.
The boxed bets are paid proportionately by type, 5-way $10,000, 10-way $5000, 20-way $2500, 30-way $1700, 60-way $850, and 120-way pays $425.

all bets no matter the style are 1$ each. There is no fifty cent option for front pair/back pair etc on Quinto. Cost way more to wager those smaller numbers. Best to stick with the smaller games of Big 4 or Pick 3. Quinto ranks right there with Treasure Hunt and Mix and match . Not a fan. Match 6 and cash five at least seem more playable and payable back. One day your life will flash before your eyes, make sure its one worth watching.

I agree and believe the average bet will be $1 straight and $1 box and probably not on both daily drawings. Without a 50 cent bet it could get pretty expensive playing all the options. Quinto tickets can't be canceled either so players better be careful marking their play slips.
There were two $50,000 winners in the first 3 drawings so somebody likes the game.
