N.C. player wins $800,000 Power Play prize
The jackpot in "America's Game" is growing. With no winner of Saturday's $92 million jackpot, the top prize in Wednesday's drawing is now $102 million.
Even though the grand prize was not awarded Saturday evening, 1 lucky ticket in North Carolina purchased with the Power Play option matched all 5 white numbers and won an $800,000 cash prize.
Four tickets additional tickets from the states of Connecticut, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, purchased without the Power Play option, matched all 5 white balls for a win of $200,000 each.
In all, 587,782 tickets across the nation won a total of $6,220,854 in prizes.
Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing the jackpot grew to an estimated $102 million, with a cash option of $52.1 million, for the Wednesday, September 10th drawing.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 17, 25, 26, 49, 54 and the Powerball was 11. The Power Play multiplier was 4.
Other prizes won Saturday evening included 27 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 8 additional tickets at this prize level were purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash.
A total of 109,826 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prizes by 4 Saturday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar.
With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2 to 5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.
Players purchased $24,632,277 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.
Powerball drawing results are published within minutes of the drawing Wednesday and Saturday nights at USA Mega (www.usamega.com), as well as on each individual state lottery results page at Lottery Post (www.lotterypost.com/results).
