Congrats to the old guy! Congrats also in his going about claiming this the way he did, especially after the feeding frenzy there was over it with the media acting as if they were entitled to know and expose the winner for every sorry case, crook and conman or politician which is the same thing, especially in DC's case go chase after him. You can't predict random.

It's not ONLY old people that win. Maybe someday it will be YOUR turn. Be happy for the man. If one day it happens to you, other people should be happy for you too.
The Jackpot lies within these numbers: 3,6,9,10,12,13,15,16,18,19,20,21,23,24,26,27,28,29,30,33,36,37,39 We want nothing less than a Jackpot!

You're obviously not aware that "old people" (your words) play the lottery more often than "young people". Would logic not dictate that "old people" would therefore win more often? Nevertheless, I would be very interested in seeing your statistics showing the "old people" win more often. You obviously compiled some factual data the proves this claim, right? Why else would you make a definitive statement that "old people" win more often? Did you factor in the voluminous data showing college-age jackpot winners? Or the 20-somethings? Or the 30-somethings? 40s? 50s? At what age does one become "old" in your statistics?

As I said before, just be happy for him/them so when it's your turn you can enjoy it fully.

Now that's what I'm talking about!!! That's how you should do it! Hell yes! Smart way to claim the prize! Good luck to the unknown winner and best wishes! rundown99 Smart lottery winners form trust to claim their winnings. They send an attorney to the lottery headquarters to claim the prize in trust, so that ONLY the name of the trust is revealed. And they tell NO ONE, especially relatives. If you ever win a lottery and you are single, the only person you should ever marry is someone who was truly in love with you BEFORE you won the jackpot!

I dont know if it has been already said, or if missed it Was it a QP or did he pick it From DC Lottery website: Below is the profile of the lucky prize winner: - An individual
- A Washington, DC resident
- A seasoned D.C. Lottery player
- Not a member of the Player’s Club
- Selected a quick pick
- Wagered $1

I only play $1 quick pick per draw but I'm probably going wrong by getting a multi week ticket. Since the numbers drawn change every draw my numbers should probably change also.

Here in Australia lottery winners have an automatic right to anonymity. Lotteries can not identify them without their permission. Most choose to, quite sensibly, remain anonymous.

When I win the lottery, I will be happy to show myself to the media. I think the winner was scared that people will target him for the money.

It is always smart for the winner but not smart the legitimacy of the lotto. If everyone could remain anonymous others players would continue to question the validity of the so-called winners. Even though I see all the news stories etc, I still question the validity of anyone winning the powerball. I know how hard it is. I will never believe it until I see it happen personally and see the cash. We don't know Jack about anything we only have to believe or not believe what the media feeds us. When I do win I will be the first to valiate it.
