My condolences go out to the family.  It just goes to show you that family is the most important thing in our lives.  Like Suze Orman says on  her show, "People first, then money then things.

My condolences to the family.

Pay attention to the rocks. The rocks in our lives: God, family, friends and co-workers, health,(physical, mental and spiritual) then, charity (monetary or time) & wealth ( whatever you perceive that to be: financial security,  etc.,

Why is this story even newsworthy?

Probably because it's so sad.  His entire life is one sad story from the moment he won that jackpot.  And what do news reporters love to report?  Sad News.  What sells? Other people's misery.

Hopefully her death won't have anything to do with him or his lottery win.  First his granddaughter's friend...and then his granddaughter....and now his daughter.  Poor soul...how much can a family take?

My condolences to the family.

My point was if this wasn't Jack Whitakers daughter it wouldn't have been published anywhere except in the local obituary column.Every family has deaths. His family hasn't had any more deaths than most familys do.
