With the signing of partnership agreements with the Ohio Lottery, the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns have become the sixth and seventh National Football League (NFL) teams to sign up to launch a limited number of team-branded lottery scratchcards through their state-sponsored lottery.

Set for launch in late August, the Ohio Lottery will debut $5 Cincinnati Bengals and $5 Cleveland Browns instant games, with a top prize for each game of $100,000.

The games will also offer a wide array of merchandise and other prizes, such as dinners on the field, pre-game sideline access, football road trips, game-worn jerseys and autographed footballs, amongst other things.

The lottery expects to print only three million instant tickets for each team.

"We are excited about reaching a new audience and potentially introducing new people to the Ohio Lottery and the good that we do for education in the state," said Terri Tancredi, Marketing Director for the Ohio Lottery. "We think these tickets are the perfect avenue to show new players who we are and what we do."

Katie Blackburn, Executive Vice President of the Cincinatti Bengals, said: "We are thrilled about our partnership with the Ohio Lottery and the introduction of the Bengals instant win ticket. We are especially pleased that the partnership should help generate additional funds for Ohio's schools."

Cleveland Browns President Michael J. Keenan, added: "We are excited to partner with the Ohio Lottery to create a Browns instant win ticket. It will allow Browns fans the opportunity to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences, game tickets, and other unique prizes — all while benefiting Ohio education."

Since 1974 the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $16 billion to support education across the state of Ohio, with $702.3 million having been transferred to the Lottery Profits Education Fund in the last financial year alone.

The deal with the Ohio Lottery now means that seven out of thirty-two NFL teams have taken advantage of the new rules allowing teams to use their logos on instant ticket scratchcards, ahead of the upcoming 2009 season.
