It is the largest Mega Millions jackpot since Feb. 22, 2008, when the top prize swelled to $270 million. One ticket sold in Georgia won that prize. The huge pot came about after no tickets won last night's $207 million jackpot drawing. On Tuesday, players will attempt to match all five numbers plus the Mega Ball number to win the top prize. There were 24 second-prize winners from Friday night's drawing: 4 from California, 3 from Georgia, 2 from Michigan, 6 from New Jersey, 3 from New York, 2 from Ohio, 2 from Texas, and 2 from Virginia. Each second prize ticket matched all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number to win $250,000, except for the four California winners, who will get $154,178 each. Unlike the other eleven Mega Millions states, California has pari-mutuel payouts at every prize level, so winners are paid an amount based on ticket sales and number of winners. Sometimes that means California winners win much larger prizes than the other eleven states, and sometimes — like last night, when there are several winners — it means the prize will be smaller. Also, 88 players matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000, except for 8 California tickets, which are worth $9,893 each. The winning numbers from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing were: 9, 38, 44, 48, and 49, with a Mega Ball number of 13. The Texas Megaplier was 4. 114,000,000 after taxes in Ill cash money... What am I going to live on the 2nd year? Nice thing about MM is that the %age of cash is greater than PB. i think that it will hit Tuesday their are a aweful lot of people winning 250k usually that is what happens when the jackpot is going to hit, it may go one more, i hope it goes to 330 million!!! that would be awesome! i will be making the "Mega Short Trip" to Georgia to get me some quick picks... the funny thing is that i bought 55.00 worth of powerball tickets in TN and i did not get one number out of every one of them....
