South Carolina Lottery: S.C. Lottery board votes to add Mega Millions
The South Carolina Education Lottery Commission voted Tuesday to move forward with the proposal to add the Mega Millions game to the line-up of games currently offered for sale in the Palmetto State.
The nine-member Board voted unanimously to allow cross-selling of Mega Millions and Powerball as early as January 31, 2010.
South Carolina is one of 31 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands belonging to the Multi-State Lottery Association which operates Powerball. SCEL began selling Powerball tickets in October 2002.
Mega Millions is also a multi-state jackpot game currently offered in 12 states.
