Clerk's error makes N.J. man a $100,000 winner
New Jersey Lottery: Clerk's error makes N.J. man a $100,000 winner
Rating:
A Bridgeton, New Jersey, resident has a store clerk's error to thank for his purchase of a scratch-off lottery ticket worth $100,000.
Indian Fields Market sold the winning Aces High scratch-off lottery ticket Monday night, store owner Domenic Galle said.
"The guy really didn't ask for that ticket," Galle said. "The clerk gave him that ticket by mistake. He asked for Deuces Wild."
The clerk realized her mistake after the customer left the store.
"She said, 'I gave the man the wrong ticket. Let me catch him before he drives out.'" Galle said.
The customer was already gone. "Maybe it was meant to be," Galle told the clerk.
And so it was.
"An hour later, he walked in with the big one," Galle said.
The winner has declined to be identified.
This is not the first time Indian Fields has sold a winning ticket. The store sold a winning Pick 6 ticket worth $6.8 million about eight years ago, Galle said. Other big Indian Fields winners have included a $354,000 Pick 5 ticket and a $30,000 Tic-Tac-Toe scratch-off.

Congrats to the winner! I bet, he is glad to have gotten that mistake ticket. "No one remembers the person who almost climbed the mountain, only the person who eventually gets to the top."

That's funny Tiggs, you and I were just talking about those lucky mistakes the other day on another thread. I could use a big mistake or two right about now.
Maybe I'll try mumbling the next time I ask for a ticket and they'll accidentally give me a winner. If I win big I'll write a book about it and title it "The Mumbling Factor," subtitled "How To Become Rich And Famous Through Strategic Mumbling." Guaranteed blockbuster. Maybe I should start writing it now just in case. Somebody is going to win millions again. My chance is as good as the varmint that won last time.

Truer words have never been spoken. That's why I'm gonna go and buy some qp's right now along with some scratch-offs, AND I'm gonna do it in SWAHILI, a language I've never spoken. All part of my new money-making strategy to confuse and mesmerize the hapless clerk.
Wish me luck, y'all!!
GOGEWOONTING!!!!

I always buy mistake tickets. There was a girl at this local store I buy my lottery tickets at and one day I asked her for a $10 Hoosier Lotto quickpick. The machine spit out the $10 ticket, but then I saw another $1 ticket come out. I don't what she did to make that happen, she did it by accident. Anyway, she set it aside and brought the $10 ticket over, and I said "Hey, I'll take that ticket too". LOL. Honestly, I'd much rather be the person that bought the mistake ticket than the person that didn't. Gonna win.

I always buy those, including when the clerk prints the wrong tix for the customer in front of me.

If You're Meant To Win: You'll Win!
Congrats To: The Winner! Im with you . Im beginning to think that its not about luck. its about destiny, your personal fate. I think about not just lottery but all the things in life that just HAPPEN to people. job, family lottery, cancer. In terms of the lottery, I think of someone lets say like Bob Sehsted. It was so called luck that he won that 500k right, but look at how many clerks cheat customers out of winnings. But in his case the clerk signed the ticket and presented it like anyone else. What would make the lottery reps ask him where he bought the ticket. then go on to "find the real owner" many times you read of people claiming theft only to have the lottery office put their hands up once the money is paid out to whomever signed the ticket. NO Bob Sehested was meant to have that money for whatever reason and fate forced the outcome. I think thats the way it is. And thank God is has nothing to do with good people winning because we see criminals winning the lottery as well. So I can feel safe that I play my numbers and win or not win. If its for me, it will be.
