The winning Mega Millions lottery numbers drawn Tuesday night were 3, 33, 35, 39, 45 with a Mega Ball of 13. The Texas Megaplier was 3. The winner is unknown, but News 12 reported the ticket was bought at Cards N Things on Route 25A in Rocky Point. The grand prize had been steadily growing since Nov. 10 when two tickets matched all six numbers. Those tickets, which split the estimated $77 million jackpot, were bought in South San Francisco, California, and Union County, New Jersey. There was only one winning ticket. The winner can choose to take the $162 million jackpot as a 29-year annuity or as a lump-sum cash payout of $102 Million. According to the Jackpot Analysis page at USA Mega (www.usamega.com), the after-tax payout to a New York resident for the lump-sum cash option would be $67,350,600, which accounts for the 25% federal and 8.97% state tax withholdings. In addition to the big jackpot winner, 9 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $250,000 prize: 1 from Georgia, 2 from Maryland, 1 from Michigan, 1 from New Jersey, 3 from New York, and 1 from Texas. For lottery fans who enjoy giving lottery tickets for Christmas gifts, Mega Millions, it seems, will not be the premier stocking stuffer it could have been if the jackpot had rolled. We'll find out tonight if Powerball will follow suit, or if it will have a jackpot exceeding $100 million for the drawing on Dec. 26. Lottery Post Staff We'd love to see your comments here! Quick pick is the way to go, the winner won using quick pick , and all the numbers were odds including the megaball. Three other people also won $250k using quick pick. I almost quick playing the megamillions this year but after i noticed how two people won the 8/28/2009 megamillions $336,000,0000 jackpot using a $1 quick pick i keep on playing. The only difference was that the guy from bronx new york chose to play his $1 quick pick in 26 annual payments and the guy from california chose to play his $1 quick pick in cash value. I wonder if the soffolk county person bet $1 or $5 to win with quick pick.that's another dilemma that i have, i don't know if i should play using $1 quick pick or $5 quick pick. I have noticed that when people win using $5 quick pick is because the play more than one $5 ticket.

Blessings and peace to the winner. Although anytime is a great time to win, perhaps this winning takes on a different meaning because of the economy. -- Bye, bye! When you win, may you glow as brightly as the

It only takes $1 to win, but if you can afford it, spend $5. Also, today & tomorrow, if you spend $5 on Mega Millions, you get a free QP, so why don't you end the year with a bang.

KC2012-- It is not weird that NY and CA win a lot of jackpots...it is simple numbers. There are more lottery players in sheer numbers in NY, CA, or even TX for that matter, so statistically speaking, these type of states should have a larger proportion of the jackpot winners.

Last night was cold so I decided against going to the store to get me some quick picks. I do have season tickets for mega millions so my hopes were on only that one ticket. I ended up winning $2 for getting the megaball 13. I could have sworn that somebody from NY would win. States that win include Ohio, Virginia, NJ, NY and California. Followed closely by Georgia and Michigan. These others MA, WA, IL, MD, TX just work to contribute to the jackpots lol.

Wow...great Christmas gift (though the money technically won't be available to the winner until early 2010). Dear winner...here's what you need to do. Take $60 million and park it in low risk investments like CDs and bonds yielding about 2% interest annually ($1.2 million a year for you buddy! That's $25k a week for life), then take $5 million and help out family. The remaining $2 million is for you to spend on whatever you want...a $900k house, some cars, travel, stash $100k in savings just for emergencies etc. You're all set!!

Although no one in CA won this particularly jackpot; I just discovered someone from Fontana, CA won the Super Lotto jackpot last night for $47,000,000. Way to go. Just wish it were me but my time is coming very soon . MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE EVERYONE @ LP
