HELENA, Mt. — Montana Lottery players soon will be able to try their luck with the multistate Mega Millions game.
The Montana Lottery will begin offering the Mega Millions game on Monday, Mar. 1.
Mega Millions drawings are Tuesday and Friday at 9 p.m. Mountain Time (11:00 p.m. Eastern). Tickets may be purchased in Montana until 8 p.m. the night of the drawing.
The game is played by choosing five numbers from 1-56 and one number, the Mega Ball, from 1-46. Players alternatively may choose a Quick Pick. Multi-Draw tickets are available for up to 24 consecutive drawings.
An optional add-on similar to Powerball's Power Play called Megaplier allows players to multiply non-jackpot winnings. The Megaplier is available in all Mega Millions states except California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington.
Prizes range from $2 to $250,000 and the jackpot starts at $12 million.
The Friday Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $99 million, so the first drawing for Montana players (Tuesday) could be for greater than $100 million.
Congratulations Montana.
I knew it would only be a matter of time.
The jackpot will grow faster with more players.
The all important Cash Option is higher for Mega Millions !
I hope the addition of more players increases the size of the Jackpot for Mega Millions !
