Rd, is it not the reality, that in this country we do have some preferential treatments for some, more than others???? race withstanding, I said that she will probably not get what she deserves because of those factors she has going for her! I stated a fact! and It has nothing to do with me been racesist or any such thing, you said we should not bury our heads in the sand! so why If I state something that is very probable you have to go go all the way back to 15 years. totally off the subject? Is it not thn okay I said if you go back 15 years why can't I go back further. My family is very Mixed, I have white in my family tree, Indian, Australian Aborigine, French, East Indian, So No! rd. I am not playing any race card, but the truth is the truth! This is America I will defend it to the end, lay my life down if I have to for her, but I live with the facts!
So lets just accept it and go back to playing our Numbers!
Yes Rosie, there probably is preferential treatment given to certain people in this country. I'll tell ya one thing though, they ain't been passin' any out to big old ugly long-bearded hillbillies as far as I can reckon. But if you know somebody in the system or have money to bribe with or are well connected in the right circles you may well be dealt with far less harshly. All those considerations would most likely be off the table in a murder case however. As noted by True Critic though, the fact that she is female will probably weigh in her favor (No outrage about that, right?). I guess you didn't understand my response about my reference to OJ. The other lady was on a tirade about her getting off scot free or time served for killing a black man like it's a done deal. I just provided the yang to her yin to illustrate it can work both ways. It was not off subject - it was relevant and apropos. How about we let her be tried before we hang the blonde-haired, blue-eyed devil? Good Christians that we are.

She may be white but the judge and/or jury may not be.

Now that I know Rosie's an Aborigine, when I win the big one I'm gonna insist she play the Didgeridoo when we have the big bash at her house with the drunken brawl afterwards. . I will not comply. I will never submit.

That is what happens when we try to communicate without the benefit of eye contact, some things get lost in transelation and... in spelling...LoL I could not resist... anyway rd, I also think that this is a sad story that causes passions to rise, but the bottom line is we all feel badly for that family and their lost! And I'm not going to get angry at someone because they don't agree with me and act like a child, and say silly things!
Now you being a long-bearded hillbillie with the steel--trap mind is very, very nice...and I am sure that is the reason you had so many women or wimmins, so who cares if the establishment don't give up the preferential treatment to you...here at LP we do rd, you are the best Now lets go get out numbers for tommorow rd, we have to win so we can pay some bills! Until we win the big One!

Thanks for the advice Truecritic! That is my point exactly, she will get preferential treatment! however you deceive yourself if you say that it's because she is "a woman", yes she is a woman a white woman, in America has a lot more going for her than women of whatever other race or color! To deny that fact is to be blinded by the dark! I hope you can read this one with little difficulty! I am surprised that her skin color is an issue with anyone. So, basically, if she gets a life sentence, it wouldn't be enough? In your opinion a Black person would've gotten like 2 life sentences, is that what you mean? I guess we wait and see what happens.

"Yes, she will get preferential treatment - she will get a lighter murder sentence than a man for the same crime - regardless of skin color. Just the fact she is a woman." Wrong, she will get preferential treatment because she is white, has blue eyes and blonde hair. I know the state I was raised in..they still hold white women in "high esteem". PS..I never thought OJ was guilty. I get the feeling you wouldn't think he was guilty if you saw him do it as long as it was a white blonde woman he butchered alive. That is very sick and very sad.

Nobody was more surprised at the verdict than OJ and his shyster lawyers. He said he would spend the rest of his life hunting down the real killers. Unfortunately he only hunted them on fancy golf courses in your beloved Florida. I guess he was held in "high esteem" there too.

We do a lot of dancing rd, can you dance!! no drunken brawl rd. no..no...no! I have some Wongga music I listen to Rosie. It's by members of the Wunambul Tribe from the Kalumburu regions of Northern Australia. It's my understanding that women sometimes dance in main ritual dances but it is usually restricted to swaying with the music in the background. So no Wandjina music at the big party. We'll clog dance instead. I'll bring one of my favorite string bands - The Carolina Chocolate Drops, to provide the music. I could scale down the drunken brawl afterward if necessary but it is a tradition in my part of the country. Think about it - maybe just a small brawl. . I will not comply. I will never submit.

I'm just curious about the age of the posters on this topic...I find that a lot of these arguments or points of view sometimes belong to a certain age group. Does anyone feel like sharing their age....or at least if they are in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's...etc? no

Ok I've been biting my tongue on all this black/white race stuff but I'm not suprised that her skin color is an issue. To dopey the comments I don't think are so much because of age but more so the color of some of the people making the comments <--------I said SOME not all. Before anyone thinks I'm taking sides let me say this......I'm white. The man I've been dating for almost 3 years is black. The post office I work in is probably 90% black. Our Postmaster is black. I'm from CA so to come to IL I'm like an outsider looking in and this is some of what I see....... I have yet to hear even one black person say they think OJ was guilty. More than once our postmaster has disciplined a black person and the comment is "he should be looking out for his own". My man. The sisters say I "took" one of "their" men. I didn't take anyone.......he came to me. My man believes white women are raised to believe they own the world. Not only was I NOT raised to believe that...I told him I was very offended that he would even think such a thing. I'm also very offended by the radio station some of the people at work play. Whatever the topic being discussed it's not about this is how women vs men react......it's white woman acts this way...black woman acts this way. Why all the need to separate by color? Yes it's true even in this day and age not all races are treated equally and that's sad, but to say she will get preferential treatment soley because she's white? That's sad too! White women are held in "high esteem"? Sometimes we see ONLY what we want to see, and what we see may not be the truth. Sorry just my two cents. This woman deserves to be punished and I hope she gets the max allowed for taking the life of another person. The sad truth is after the fact...you can't bring Mr. Shakespeare back. No amount of punishment will justify the awful crime she committed.
