U can pick yur friends, but u can't pick those WONDERFUL family members!

Its interesting the threads to this post,  from what I read here, a case can be made for you to hound me forever, even if you abandon the tenets of the contract.  Get enough people to promise you a piece of the action, and, just sit back and wait on them to spend their money and hit!!.  What a country!!

This is just sad, sad, sad!!!  To be lucky to live this long....all of them...and still acting like children.  Terrible!

and of course the lawyer will want his 33%.

They deserve not to have to give so much of it to THE GOVERNMENT first. How does THAT sound!?

There's a really simple solution that will prevent you from ever finding yourself in this sort of position: don't agree to a bad contract. If a contract is bad enough it will be held to be invalid if it's challenged, but the government has no business protecting adults from every chance to make a poor decision that comes along. Considering that the sisters obviously had a substantial falling out it was obviously stupid of them to mutually agree to what was apparently a lifetime contract. That doesn't mean the basic terms of the contract (and I haven't seen any details about that anywhere) weren't perfectly reasonable.

I read about this story a few years ago. and this week it was on the National News.  At this stage this should be the sunshine of their life, instead they're wasting valuable years.  I would have settled like another reader said in an earlier post.  The two lawyers are the happiest people in this case!

I've said it before, a lawyer will probably get half of any winnings I have trying to help keep my name and personal information out of the news! lol.

Best Solution for a win: keep your mouth closed, give anonymously to family, friends, whomever.  Then they can't  sue you for part of your winnings nor will they be jealouse of your blessing.

I have three relatives who haven't spoken in two years because of land and money not shared with them. Niether of them worked for any of the money or purchased the land that was owned.  Go figure.

I'm a little peeved at the Social Security Administration. When they started it they promised the money would be kept separate and never touched for anything other than benefits paid to retirees. It's now empty, broke and bankrupt, full of nothing but worthless IOU's from a broke and bankrupt government. They lied and stole all the money.

I'm a little mad about that. Does that end my agreement?

But I'm sure they're not lying about anything in the new healthcare bill.

I trust them completely.

They've always been so good at handling our money, how could this possibly go wrong?

Yes I know Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the Post Office, the V.A. and most everything else they run seems to go broke and bankrupt but let's not be nit-pickers.

If those two sisters had signed the back of that winning ticket, they wouldn't be where they are right now.

 Just a good example of how the lottery can ruin your life and your families life for both big winners and non-winners, this happens daily and is very sad.

 If there is truely a hell, whoever is at fault for making the lottery what it is now im sure the devil is waiting right for them when they pass.

I doubt that anyone is going to "hell" for making the lottery what it is. Also, what do you mean by that?
