William J. Newberry of Green Forest Thursday redeemed a winning Powerball ticket for a $10,000 prize. This is Mr. Newberry's second $10,000 Powerball win. Newberry purchased both winning tickets at Powell's One Stop on Highway 62 East. He said he was going to spend some of his winnings buying more Powerball tickets. The lucky lottery player won the prize by matching the Powerball number and four out of the five other numbers, which is a $10,000 amount. Had Newberry purchased the PowerPlay multiplier both times, he would have won $30,000 and $50,000 respectively. The current Powerball jackpot for the drawing on Saturday standards at $212,000,000, the result of 9 consecutive drawings without a winner. Powerball tickets priced at $1. A player can choose his own six numbers or ask for a random number selected by a computer. For an additional $1 per ticket, a player can purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies any non-jackpot prize by a number between 2 and 5. The Power Play multiplier number is randomly selected by computerized drawing immediately before the regular Powerball drawing takes place. In the first six months of the Arkansas Lottery's participation in Powerball, one player has won the jackpot — a prize of $25,000,000. (Click to display full-size in gallery)

He is so lucky, winning Powerball twice. "Newberry purchased both winning tickets at Powell's One Stop on Highway 62 East. " Somtimes loyalty does pay off. I often drive 5 miles just to purchase my lottery ticket at an friendly-customer-service gastation.

The article reads: "The lucky lottery player won the prize by matching the Powerball number and four out of the five other numbers, which is a $10,000 amount. Had Newberry purchased the PowerPlay multiplier both times, he would have won $30,000 and $50,000 respectively."
Consequentially, I wonder if Mr. Newberry will soon begin purchasing [the wiser for him] "PowerPlay" multiplier option for $1 more each Powerball play? Having millions of dollars in my financial accounts means more, consistent fun for me.

I'm happy for the guy but he sure doesn't look very happy. He's got that "I wish I had spent another stinkin' dollar for the Powerplay" look on his face. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be a pennypincher like tiggs. Not that there's anything wrong with being a tightwad and a cheapskate. Far be it from me to suggest anything of the kind. . I will not comply. I will never submit.

He's a very lucky guy! I bet though, he wishes that he had powerplayed his winning, but I am sure he is still happy to have won twice. "No one remembers the person who almost climbed the mountain, only the person who eventually gets to the top." ThatScaryChick

stats show that only 2% of lottery winners stop playing for good. I guess this is why!

lol@the picture caption "William J. Newberry of Green Forest dressed in his finest V-neck whiteT-shirt, set his cap at just the right angle, and donned a winningsmile, while he collected his second $10,000 Powerball prize. Standingwith Newberry are two family members." But maybe there's a method to his appearence.... Maybe he looks so grumpy because just as the hulabaloo was dying down from his first win, now here he goes winning another lottery prize and everybody knows about it? Bring on the circus! Or maybe he's grumpy because he missed the jackpot again by 1 number, and his hat looks that way because he just threw it up there after he got finished throwing on the ground in frustration.

I don't blame the lucky brother knowing what I know about the lotto. Even hitting once is a miracle. I know, I know, better safe than sorry but playing safe can be real expensive. Some hit but never know it, some will never hit and some will hit and wont even be ready
