The Idaho Lottery conducted its 2010 $500,000 Spring Raffle drawing Wednesday evening, awarding one $500,000 cash prize and many smaller prizes.

The winning numbers are available Lottery Post's Idaho Lottery Results page (www.lotterypost.com/results/id).

In addition to the $500,000 top prize, there will be 250 winners of $500, 1,500 winners of $50, and 3,249 winners of $25. All prizes are lump-sum cash payments.

A total of 300,000 tickets were available for the raffle at the price of $5 apiece. Sales of Raffle tickets began May 1, 2010, and most of the tickets were sold prior to the drawing.

The Raffle drawing took place at 4:59 p.m. MT Wednesday.

Players advised to re-check tickets

In the early evening Wednesday after the winning numbers for the $500,000 Spring Raffle were announced, the Idaho Lottery Winning Numbers Hotline experienced a technical malfunction. Players who checked their tickets using the Idaho Lottery Winning Numbers Hotline telephone system should check their tickets again today to see if they have one of the 5,000 winning tickets.

"Some players who contacted our Hotline shortly after the draw should re-check their tickets again today. The Idaho Lottery apologizes for the technical glitch in the winning numbers retrieval system used on our Hotline," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director.

"We identified the problem very quickly and immediately fixed it," added Anderson. "This situation only applies to players who may have called the Winning Numbers Hotline shortly after the draw announcement at 5:00 p.m. (MT) Wednesday night. The situation was quickly corrected and players can now feel secure in knowing they're receiving accurate information from the Winning Numbers Hotline."

Players holding tickets for the raffle drawing can view the entire list of winning numbers on Lottery Post's raffle results page (see Related Links below the story).

Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.

I bought a couple of tickets for the drawing, but I didn't win anything. Frown Congrats, to those that did though.

That may be a completely honest mistake or malfunction but man, I don't like the sound of it.

I hear you, but at the same time it's great to hear the lottery reporting something like this quickly and being all over it.

Raffles and other rare drawings have the greatest possibility of errors in reporting, because the lottery doesn't get a lot of "practice" with all the mechanisms (operationally).  Best to hang on to non-winning tickets for a few days because of it.

I agree, my advice is to take advantage of raffles when they come around.  I know some people don't like the absence of a plethora of $1 and $2 prizes, but I think they're great.
